Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

It's exactly the same Sue. Try searching Thomo and see what you find. Whipped out of existence because of an unpopular opinion. It's amazing how you believe that there is a difference because you support the same team as Whispering Jack, you like Satyricon and a few others are no different to the masses in the cult of Hird. If my posts were not whiped you would see that what I was banned for is now the common group think, just unpopular at the time

well, I did a search and all your old posts are there

(I searched on "forums" not "members" because "thomo" is no longer a "member")

No. You may have been assassinated (though your words of wisdom are still there apparently), but over on Bomberblitz there was genocide and a rewriting of history.

Of course if you were indeed unfairly banned then I share your outrage. But it is amusing to see me lumped with other posters on the stated basis that I see a difference between you being banned and what has happened on Bomberblitz. It must be comforting to see the world in such black and white terms.

Given how much rubbish I read on here last season (and I'm not talking discussion, I'm talking about vitriol, personal attacks against club staff and supporters and unjustified insults that have nothing to do with a discussion on performance) combined with how much genuine discussion and debate I've read about a range of issues, I'm very authorised if anyone claims they have been censored on the back of personal opinion.

Given this site is quite lenient towards member discussion, debate and argument most of the time, perhaps any posts that were deleted are a reflection on the way in which the posts in question were written rather than an attack on the actual topic or point of view.

Some people on this site are very pro club hierarchy, but I've seen both sides of the coin argued regularly. I'm not sure what reasonably expressed and well substantiated views have been censored but I'm interested to know what you think is taboo on this site.

Who cares.

Can we get back to talking (fantasising) about how stuffed the bombers are??

Fair enough. Though I would have thought the meltdown at Bomberblitz was a symptom of them being stuffed.

Even if you were banned unfairly, it is quite different from what has happened on Bomberblitz. There entire threads disappear, clobbering all contributors as well as all readers and making it impossible to see what was said by whom later on. The motivation for this Stalinist approach is very suspicious. It's one thing to shoot you, it's another to airbrush you out of existence as well.

Essendon under Hird had many characteristics of a cult. This is how cults behave - those who disagree with them are brainwashed or "excommunicated" i.e. assumed away. I'm surprised that some on here appear to be surprised this is happening at Essendon. it is what I would EXPECT to happen, and in totally in sync with the characteristics of the organization.

What will be interesting is when the Messiah doesn't return (or more accurately is not allowed to return) after infraction notices are issued and they and the AFL try to deal with the ensuing chaos. Many of them will feel lost, and total disenfranchised......not to say disillusioned.

That's quite hypocritical of you WJ. My account 'Thomo' was banned and all posts deleted for being critical of Cameron Schwab, Mark Neeld and Liam Jurrah, and Demonland admin will not give any other reason to me except this. My posts were not crude or defamatory , but the content was not liked by your team, even though in hindsight it was all spot on. How are bomber blitz any different?

That's not quite true. According to our records, poster Thomo was banned from the site "for his nastiness and insensitivity" on a thread about Liam Jurrah back in 2012.

If that's you, the decision to remove you was made after several instances of obnoxious behaviour. In short, you were and are, a serial pest and our moderating team were all happy to see the back of you.

Cheerio.

People don't get banned here or have their posts deleted because they have unpopular views. They can and do for making what are considered racist and offensive comments and/or telling blatant lies. Check our code of conduct.

You did omit to mention among the people you attacked was Jim Stynes and whilst it might be fair comment to be critical of some things he might have done at the club, personal abuse of people dead or alive around here is unacceptable.

I suggest you take mjt's advice and head off elsewhere where you can abuse anyone you like over here and you can s***can Demonland policy as much as you like but you'll soon find that they not only have moderators but discerning posters who will soon tire of your toxic behaviour too.

On the subject of yuk, here's another thing that makes me cringe.

Steroid use soars among young men

The 2013 needle syringe program survey, by the Kirby Institute at the University of NSW, found 74 per cent of people in NSW who started injecting illicit substances in the past three years had sought out performance- and image-enhancing drugs, compared with only 27 per cent in 2003.

These studies and publicity about them are important because greater public awareness of the outcome of regular use of performance and image-enhancing drugs will help deter people from falling under their spell (and hopefully catch the culprits who trade in the illegal drugs).

Who knows? Over at Essendon, perhaps the officials, players and supporters might eventually get it and by the end of this season that golden haired boy who's getting who got paid $1m for sitting on his backside won't be so welcome coming back.

It's somewhat ironic that it's being reported that one of Vlad's private funds went belly up recently while Hird got his $1m payout.

So thats Vlad and Vlahos,Very interesting, more info anyone ? Tennis anyone !

WJ the interesting quote from the A-Rod story was "He associated with a fake doctor at an anti-aging clinic called Biogenesis".

Seems to be quite close to the Essendrug story.

Which part about...WADA work to own timetable do most not get ?

The only unfortunate part of that rigour is that by the time all info is available the perpetrators may no longer be in the system.

My gut tells me around mid season infractions will go out.

Asada seem to be finalising their position. This wont suit the league nor Messendon

Spendiferous indeed.

I agree that ASADA works to its own timetable and that's how it should be but mid season seems to be stretching things given that the public announcement of the investigation happened in early February, 2013. Unless they're waiting for something to happen via another agency e.g. the ACC, I'd like to think that if infraction notices are to issued then it should happen before the season starts (which means the start of the NAB Challenge). This is because I understand that sanctions start from the last competition date which would ATM mean end August 13/start September 13.

Even Essendon people acknowledge that Hird had such God-like status that he was untouchable and there were literally NO constraints on what he was allowed to do - not from the Board, not from the CEO, and certainly not from those advising him on medical issues. After all, two of Hird's supposedly greatest friends, the club doctor and the CEO, he was quite happy to betray in a vain effort to save his own skin. There was a culture of group think at Hird's Essendon which was dominated by Hird himself which was taken over by his sociopathic personality. It was inevitable it would implode. The club doctor merely became its most public victim.

It is said that the fish rots from the head - the board was not fulfilling its duties to govern and manage risk so now the board has mostly gone hasnt it?

It is important that board members know their roles and whilst allowing employees to do their jobs also do their own and protect the organisation from risk.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
