A pup ?

Why.

Whats about to occur is the opening of Pandoras Box. No one is sure of the real fallout or knockons from this.

Despite the Leagues pandering and the clubs continued stance the whole fabric of club-player relationship is about to be tested at its very core.

What is said now by the affected parties will eventually be meaningless as self interests come to the fore.

Chip Le Grand reports on the arrest of Shane 'Dr Ageless' Charter and claims this is "a dramatic blow" to ASADA - ASADA star witness Shane Charter arrested.

I reckon Le Grand, who some suggest is the Bomber's PR man, might have been reading too many cheap paperbacks.

The arrest of Charter who already has drug dealing convictions is a known associate of Dank and Hird from past days and we're told he supplied some of the peptides used in the Essendon supplements regime. It was also reported last year that he has gone into business with the family accused of laundering money for the Mokbel drug empire.

Surely, if evidence is produced of Charter's role at Bomberland, the fact that he's been questioned in relation to an investigation into criminal activity associated with the importation and supply of peptide hormones, is not going to assist their cause one iota? Charter's credibility was probably already in question and based on his experience in the field of peptides, he's probably something of an expert witness on the subject. :)

Was it Kate Lundy who gave the "we'll catch you" speech? The only poor [censored] who got caught was Ahmed Saad whose crime was to choose the wrong energy drink in a seven eleven fridge. Meanwhile, James Hird is studying in France courtesy of the AFL and despite admissions from Essendon players, no action has been taken against the setting up of an off site injecting room to inject prohibitive substances. Nothing will come of this. No, my apologies, in order to ensure nothing comes of it, Asada will be found to be compromised, which they probably are.

Fortunately the article is 'premium content' so I'm not going to bother fiddling to read it, but just from the intro, did this Le Grand person graduate from kindergarten? Most of us would see it as a blow to the serial killer, not his defence, if when being investigated for one murder he was prosecuted for another.

You mean this Sandor Earl? - ' On the 2nd of June 2014, Sandor's charges of the use of peptides was dropped by ASADA.[17][18]'

I thought that Earl's charges of use still stand but that the charge of "trafficking" was dropped?

Agree

Don't want to, but agree.

The price for justice is too high, too embarrassing.

Therefore, agree.

Farcical. The Nuremberg trials were quicker than this. No joking.

and they established that "I was only obeying orders" is NOT a defence!!

"ASADA has dropped its peptide trafficking allegation against former NRL player Sandor Earl, the only player to be banned under the anti-doping agency's long-running, drugs-in-sport probe.

Earl admitted being injected with the peptide while recovering from a shoulder injury at the Penrith Panthers in late 2011.

Last year, the sports doping agency claimed that Earl trafficked the peptide CJC-1295.

7:30 can reveal ASADA has placed Earl on its register of findings over his use of peptides, meaning his legal team can challenge his ban."

The only player banned....

Much of his argument is that because there are so many people who may have broken the rules, it will be a lawyer-fest to 'convict' any one of them. Safety in numbers. Wonderful.

It borders on the ridiculous how much reporting comes from a skewed perspective. So much is written almost supposing that Essendon are some sort of victim in all this as opposed the instigator and guilty. Are we supposed to feel compassion for them ? I certainly don't. Let the lawyers feast, let the club eat itself , let it immolate I really don't care.

Agree bb.

However I do care I want oblivion not so much for the players but Jimmy and company who played fast and loose with their players lives.

Arrogance?

How about this item from AAP -

A spokesperson for the Essendon Football Club reports that it has booked captain Jobe Watson for a visit to a certain sports scientist today and the club is confident that, as a result, he'll be passed fit to play against Melbourne next Sunday.

So would we like this to all come to a head this week, or wait until afterwards?

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
