Neeld wasn't the problem. How can one coach in such a cancerous environment. We need fresh blood, a complete turn over of staff and personnel.

If the current fucias can become demons, we may have a chance in hell.

SACK THE CLUB THEN

Brilliant. No point getting too upset. Over the past 5 years we've been at rock bottom so many times. I don't think we keep plumbing to new depths, I think we just invent new ways to make everyone laugh at us.

Neeld wasn't the problem because the whole club is a rabble, from the board on down, that is why PJ is fixing it.

If the club was in order when Neeld arrived, he'd of probably been a decent coach.

Neeld did have to go in the end so we could get the board and the rest of the club right.

It wasn't fair on Neeld from the time he came in, but Neeld would have no regrets, he got a taste of it and he'll succeed elsewhere.

Man is that a load.

Neeld did much damage to this group.

He was a lousy people manager. In the words of a player I spoke to last week, arrogant know all who neither commanded nor gave respect.

Agree with you totally, don't foget Greg Healy( useless as t.ts on a bull). I copped plenty of criticisms in the past for making those suggestions, once again WELL DONE. Craig can also take a flying leap.

Exactly.

The scars that he with the administration that supported have really damaged this club badly.

The mess in the whole club won't be cleaned up over night. The mess that has been caused by previous administrations just beggars belief but it's there for all to see.

Unfortunately everything is on hold now at the club, there will be a new head of football, a new president and a new coach and still some of the board to go for mine. That is a lot of people sitting in interim positions who know they won't be there next year and the players know this.

Craig really gave the game up if it wasn't already up by saying he didn't blame Watts for waiting and seeing what happens. They're all waiting now except for the few who have a real pride in their performance.

To lay what we are being dished up at the feet of one man is bordering on delusional.

Neeld was only one of a cavalcade of disasters dished up by this club.

Anyone who honestly thinks this is all his fault is in urgent need of therapy.

This group of players are abysmal at the things that don't need coaching, like chasing, tackling and generally showing some form of desire for a contest.

The administration is clearly in over their heads as this train wreck has been occurring for far too long with no one showing the balls to make the hard decisions to stop it.

The coaches employed by this club for the best part of the last decade are all abject failures, we are still making the same mistakes now that we were back then and no one seems to care.

The recruiters don't need me to point out their failures, they are there for all to see, every time this club runs out to play.

This club currently has a snowballs chance in hell to pull themselves out of this hole that has been dug long before Neeld was even here, but if it makes you feel better laying it all on one man then good for you.

I think it's disingenuous to blame Neeld alone for out current situation. The train wreck that we are today left the station a decade ago and was caused by a combination of poor coaching, poor recruiting, list management and player development. It started in Neale Daniher's latter years and was compounded during Bailey's term. Needless to say, things didn't get any better under Mark Neeld's short tenure but the mess was already there when he arrived.

Neeld by no means was the only cause of this debacle but his hiring was the cherry on top of the shite sundae. It was like someone who had been knocked out in a street fight who then gets gutter stomped. If the KO wasn't bad enough, the coup de gras was even worse..

So you should have.

It's just as poorly thought-out when someone else writes it.

"Dunn, Spencer, Byrnes, Gillies, Watts, Davey, Jetta, Bail, Rodan, Tapscott, Sylvia, Couch",

We must trade Watts. Sylvia (FA) will probably go. Give (may have to pay) Jamar to GWS. Persevere with Spencer, Tappscott. The rest can go for nothing!

Gotta keep Watts unless Carlton offered us Marc Murphy. It's not gonna happen. He will be a damaging player with confidence and good players around him. Pretty much agree on the rest though, minus perhaps Rawlings and Spencer.

My issue is that he doesn't look like he wants to be out there half the time, huge sense of entitlement in these blokes, no honor in the fact they're playing for the oldest AFL club.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
