Boys, in a pretty disappointing year, it's important to try and find some positives that we, as supporters, can look ahead to. Billy Stretch, son of Steven is one of them, really encouraging to see that he is in SA U18 contention. Jake Lovett is another one that looms as potentially another father son option.

Son of Brett, Jake has been selected in the Vic Country U16 team this year, and wil travel to Blacktown to play in the tournament in the coming weeks. Obviously it's a long way away until he could be drafted, and he has a lot of work to do, but he has nice size already, strong physique and really has a crack. One thing he does need to work on (this is just from one game that I have seen on Richmonds training oval before Queens birthday) is his fitness, doesnt exactly move smoothly around the ground. But a lot to work with there, and hopefully can do enough to warrant selection in the 2015(?) draft!

whats his height and weight??

Can't find the real stats online, but if I had to take a swing from face value it would be 184cm and 75-80kg? Nice frame, runs with a similar gate to the old man

if hes anything like his old man...

one of the most underrated players of all time, just a smooth mover and much like Robert Harvey he was almost untackle-able.

If my memory serves me correctly Brett may have even finished top 4 in the Brownlow one season?

Absolute gun.

Brett Lovett - awesome

Agree.

Jake is a different player, he started in the square at the beginning of each quarter which suggested he was in the first selected midfield group. Whenever he gathered the ball in a contested situation, he would hit it hard and stick out a forearm to create some room before getting rid of it. Also took a ripper mark in the last quarter. Bit of Dusty about him

bring that on.

so that's three midfielders - two inside, one outside - from our 80s forefathers.

geelong had, what, a key forward, a key back, and a couple of mids?

how old are the ox's kids?

such a shame lyon's boys don't show this sort of talent!

He might put them forward for a coaching position?

It would be great if Billy and Jake improved enough to play AFL and chose to join us in 2014 and 2015.

Red...we'll be building a head of steam by then ( by all pyschic predictions ) ...Of course they'll elect to be Demons

as if its even up for discussion ^_^

So there's another F/S on the way. Jake Lovett, son of Brett, is playing for the Dandenong Stingrays in the TAC Cup. He's draft eligible in 2015.

Looks like 2016 could be a bit back-to-the-80s with Viney, Stretch and Lovett all possibly lining up in red and blue.

Melbourne will be salivating over eligible father-son selection, Jake Lovett, who is the son of former club champion Brett. Although a different type of player to his father, Jake is a high-possession winning on-baller, with damaging disposal and a tendency to be aggressive. The only downside is that he the Dees will have to wait another year, as he is not eligible until 2015

Heard about him last year. Has talent and is super tough apparently.

Viney, Stretch and Lovett running around again might bring us some success, god knows we want / need it.

and this we badly need, about time we had some good father sons coming through, Viney looks the goods so far and it would be nice to end up like Cats and Doggies picking up 3 or 4 decent father sons within a few years of each other, which would help out with getting first pick of them above other clubs

Brett Lovett...too much weight, too slow and an absolute gun.

Rarely beaten one on one and very creative - loved him as a footballer.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
