Apart from the Daniel Cross rumour that was in The Age.

I haven't seen Janesch, Patrick, Edwards, Shuey or Laidler been mentioned at the Dees anywhere.

My main focus is on the Dees.

He gave me a rundown on other teams and I thought fellow Demonlanders on here might appreciate it.

Again. Take it at what you will. I'm just passing on what I have heard.

To answer your question. His not an admin, he doesn't even have Facebook haha

Is that Janesch from Adelaide, the guy that was born in SA or another one?

Would be thrilled with Shuey. Gun line-breaker and a decent disposer.

This is what I have been told.

We are in the boxseat to get Luke Shuey. He wants to come back to Victoria and would happily come to Melbourne as he barracked for us as a kid and is good mates with Jack Viney.

Essendon are circling though and might offer a Carlise and Colyer to get Shuey to the Bombers.

Jeremy Laidler will most likely be a Demon next year aswell. We have shown the most interest.

Janesch to Melbourne is more than likely as he wants to return to Victoria.

Daniel Cross is 95% over the line but Carlton have had chats with him.

Liam Patrick will be picked up with a late pick in the draft or free agent (not sure on status)

This one surprised me when my mate told me but we have spoken with Richmond's Aaron Edwards. Not sure how he would fit in our forward line to be honest.

Sylvia will be at Freo next year. Lock that in. 2 year deal. Thanks for the service Colin.

We have spoken with David McKay from Adelaide but he had no interest in playing for Melbourne, so it was a brief chat.

Also mentioned we had Geoff Welsh nearly sewn up as Football Manager, but changed his mind at the last minute and will most likely take a year off and join North or GWS.

In other team news:

With North possibly missing out on Dal Santo and Betts, they are very interested in Jed Lamb and Everitt. Harper is on the table aswell.

Rockcliff could be at Essendon or Carlton next year. Manager was reportedly seen at Visy Park yesterday.

Dale Thomas will be a Hawk but Carlton still haven't given up hope.

North in the boxseat to get Polkinghorne from Brisbane. Leigh Adams possibly in the trade.

Taylor Adams to Collingwood. Lock it in.

Eilliot Yeo from Brisbane will most likely be involved in a straight swap for Shane Savage.

Pods will be most likely at Carlton next year.

Matt Rosa will either stay at West Coast or move to Fremantle.

Adelaide has had enough of Bernie Vince and will trade him back to WA or delist him if no one is interested. He is not interested in coming to Melbourne though.

Eddie Betts to the Crows but North still a slim 5% chance.

Richmond are heavily linked to Shaun Hampson.

Q-Stick is linked with GWS.

Josh Hunt/ Richard Tambling could be at North Melbourne next year.

Didak to Carlton.

Liam Anthony to Gold Coast.

Levi Greenwood to Adelaide.

Take what you will from this but just passing on what I have heard from my mate. Normally spot on the money but things change every hour in football.

Eg. Told me Essendon withdrew a 3 year deal to Chappy and are going to make big plays at Shuey/ Rockcliff.

Some good stuff in there, but about Shuey: he didn't support Melbourne, he supported Hawthorn.

I think you did get that off the Facebook page, which also stated that Shuey was good mates with Jack Viney because they went to Carey Grammar together but that's bs, Shuey went to Marcellin. There's also a big age gap between them so I doubt they're 'mates'

Fair enough if that's your opinion. However I believe he has showed on numerous occasions he is good enough, he has single handly won us games off his own boot, he's a powerful midfielder who kicks goals(I don't expect him to be a Judd or cotchin), his problem is he never has any fluency in his game because he will do something stupid and get suspended and sit on the sidelines when he's in form(therefore is never consistent). I think Roos will teach him what is required to become an elite midfielder and how fit u have to be to run hard two ways not just one. MFC cannot afford to lose Colin Sylvia IMO

Totally agree.

Sylvia......single handedly won a game ??? :o

John McEnroe might have something to say about that.

Pretty sure I read that Shuey was a Dee's supporter when he was interviewed pre draft. Also said Nugget Jones was his fav player and the one he modelled his game on. Think you're right about Marcellin College, so unsure about any prior friendship with Viney (who was a Hawks fan when Todd was coaching there).

Perhaps a massive hypothetical, but who would people prefer for pick 2: Shuey, Rockliff or Sloane?

Personally I'd take Rockliff of the three.

Good hypothetical and would do the stats between the 3 of them if had more time. I like Sloane but would give up pick 2 for the others as well..

Not trying to be alarmist, but we really need to sign Frawley up asap. Possibly for 9 years.

GWS are definitely going to have a massive crack at him next year.

Call it MFCSS, but the moment I saw this article in which Frawley says he bleeds red 'n blue, the first thought that entered my head was, "he's gone at the first opportunity". Probably a conditioned response.

I'm sure he still posts around here under an alias.

I wonder if he ended up being picked up in the National Draft all those years ago....

Y M is the Bettlejuice of footy forums... say his name three times, he will turn up and will be very difficult to get rid of.

Is there any chance at all we could get both shuey and rockckiff? Sloan I think is out of the the equation. Understanding it would cost us at a min our first 2 draft picks and some quality players but if we could get this done and this only surely problems solved?

Very interesting times ahead, if all of this talk is true and we face a choice of what to use pick 2 on who do we take? Rockliff, Shuey or Shiel?

all three are contracted as far as I am aware so any deal would have to involve pick 2 and it's very unlikely we will have the bait to be able to secure more than one.

Personally i'd choose Rockliff, still young, leadership oozes from him, hard at it, fits Roos style of player, but that's just my opinion.

Born 1989 or later and Victorian midfielder at interstate team:

Adelaide: Sloane, Sam Kerridge, David McKay, No first round picks to trade back to us!

Brisbane: Rockliff, Claye Beams (Brissy boy but brother in Vic), Ryan Lester, Patrick Karnezis

Freo: Suban, Sheridan, Mitchie

GC: Prestia, Swallow (WA boy but brother in Vic)

GWS: Taylor Adams, plenty others but no others have expressed any interest

Port: Andrew Moore, Jasper Pittard, Aaron Young

Syd: Hannebery, Lamb, Rohan, Parker

WC: Gaff, Selwood, Shuey, Ash Smith (def)

Sloane, Scott Selwood, Gaff, Hannebery, D. Swallow are the class of the lot. Would be happy with them for pick 2 with something additional for most of those thrown in. A lot of the others on the list are quality players but we'd need something significant to come with them ie first round pick coming the other way.

After hearing what was said yesterday on the radio, I reckon it's Swallow who is the one that we might trade pick 2 for. I could be making a Gaff, but Swallow fits criteria.

That would be insane. i'd actually die.

Thinking more about it what about pick 2 and either a fringe tappscot or Strauss type for one deal and pick 20 (or whatever our second round is) plus fitzy, howe or blease? I dont think the second trade either west coast or brisbane will jump at unless either player really wants to leave? Only other thing that may help us is freo and west coast want sylvia and we somehow use sylvia or he helps us as with a west coast deal effectively picking them ahead of freo??

Again you just proved how half of those were made up and from facebook. Janesch is from SA yet he saus he wants to be traded back to Vic.

Since when is Bernie Vince from WA!?

Demoneyes copped it on this board for providing couple little rumours that were pretty spot on yet this [censored] writes a page made up by himself yet yet gets a standing ovation from some people on here.

This guy is a [censored] shouldnt be taken seriously.

I wouldn't say anyone who is sharing a rumour is a [censored], it's a rumours board. If people don't share rumours the board dies.

Perhaps look at the definition of the word "rumour":

rumour
rumor: gossip (usually a mixture of truth and untruth) passed around by word of mouth.

A mixture of truth and UNTRUTH. Thats the joy of it. The tittilation of possibilities that arise in some of the absurdity of the rumours that get posted here. Perhaps a rumour could actually be true and we could actually end up landing Rockliff, Shuey and Gary Ablett Junior all for pick 2. Absurd? Yes. Arousing? Absolutely. Thats the thrill in the silly season my friend.

So don't worry so much about where the rumours come from ol' boy. Just enjoy the ride.

Denham on SEN thinks(?) that Sylvia is gone from Melbourne will almost certainly be somewhere else next year, Freo or Essendon seem to be the front runners.

He also said he wouldn't blame him due to the lack of success we've had and this is the most disturbing part of it; it seems as if the media regard clubs like Melbourne as feeders for the more successful clubs, we train them up and then they get picked up by clubs challenging and looking to fill a spot on the ground.

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
