I'm not sure why Jumbo is getting so grumpy with you and yes he can still be traded, but that scenario is highly unlikely.

The reason is that Col can go to whatever club he wishes. If our club felt he was gone and no point trying to match his offer, then we could try and negotiate with his intended club for a trade.

But this club is under no obligation to enact a trade and would in all likelihood, unless they wanted to offload someone for salary cap or not good enough reasons, tell us to get knotted.

That would then mean our compensation would fall under the AFL's compensatory pick panel.

If the AFL were to give us a priority pick (eg: Pick 3 as you intimated), then I reckon they'd give us virtually nothing for him because every club would have been complaining loud about it - probably end of third round.

If the AFL hadn't given us a priority pick or had just given us one at end of first round (ie: Pick 19), then I reckon they might feel OK about giving us a pick after our second round pick (eg: about 21).

Profile: Aish is an elite user of the footy and just has more time and space than the next player. In space, in traffic, it doesn’t matter for Aish he has rare composure and continues to make the right decisions and never seems rushed. By both hand or foot he consistently uses it well and is one of the more duel sided players you’ll see at this young age and rarely misses a target. Strong mark overhead for his size and has a strong 1v1 game despite his lean build. Aish is an impressive athlete with his ability burst out of traffic with the pill, to sidestep and has a real burst of speed on him in a straight line also. Aish still needs to get stronger but that will come. Despite his lean build he is not a soft outside player and is very willing to get his hands dirty and go hard when it’s his turn but looks more likely to settle on a wing or back flank.

Hard at the ball and a really natural inside extractor burrowing in, winning the ball and setting up the receivers outside of the pack by hand with that real inside distributing side of his game particularly excellent. He does it as well as any and just thrives on that contested ball type game as that clearance specialist. Crouch is also an exceptional tackler showing strong tackling technique and really going in hard with those tackles and it seems to be another area of the game that he just really enjoys. Athletically Matt is not nearly as explosive as his older brother Brad but has shown some improvement over the past season in his foot speed which is encouraging. Footskills only average by position. He’s not going to do damage by foot but his footskills are also on the improve and can be with further training solid at the next level. The aspect I do like with his footskills is that particularly in the forward half in those stoppage situations he’s very dangerous because if he gets his hands on it and can quickly get it onto his boot for a quick snap on either side.

Has very clean hands and that ability to be that real inside distributor with his work in close by hand as good as you’ll find really working to dish it off to those outside runners and get others involved. Not only is Dunstan an exceptional inside player but he can also swing forward, take a mark and hit the scoreboard when given the opportunity and I expect he will continue to be a very damaging player at the next level. Opinions on his kicking vary, but by position I’ve mostly been pretty happy with what he’s done not only finishing but also hitting his targets around the field. In future it would be nice to see Frawley, Garland and McDonald as key backs with Giles either the loose man (helpful at 195cm) or as a KPP against dominant forwards. Add Terlich and Grimes tough nature (love to see him as our Hodgey) that is a dominant backline.

Add Aish, Taylor, Crouch, Dunstan, Perris, Greenwood, Adams, Viney, Trengove, Grimes, Jones, Tompass, Matt Jones (who should be on the interchange really) and cross my fingers, touch wood, Taggert ever comes on thats a very nice looking midfield.

Taylor is a player we need. Agreed,we require inside mids but Melbourne does not have many skilful midfielders who can kick accuratly. Here is what Taylor can offer. Freeman/Dunmont/Sheed will be ok if Crouch is gone but someone here will slip in a strong midfield draft
