WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - PAUL ROOS

timmyo64

Recommended Posts

Please no more "my source says" posts. There were a few that said they had it on very good authority that it'd be announced today - Wrong.

Many names have been thrown around for assistants, eg Ling, Black, O'Loughlin, Tudor, Junior Mac, Stone and other Sydney people. Cant have them all, so also - wrong.

I think now every day this week has been mentioned for an announcement, so many 'sources' are also going to be wrong.

Just let it happen, nothing we can do but hope for the best.

I would lmao if Roos states tonight that his family felt it was not the right time to move states and he has had to turn down the offer, and then gets announced as our coach on Thursday night. That would be priceless.

I wonder if this will drag out, til Wednesday, with other announcements prior to the big one???

I'm getting jittery, can't sit down or stay still... have too many things up in the air for moi, right now, I'm in bit of a spin.

Paul Roos to be assisted by Simon Black & Cameron Ling

Source?

Horizontal.jpg

So many sauces!

(I think he is trying to tell us something - is that our coaching panel?)

Ling would be your "Big Red" (no explanation needed)

Paul Roos would be your "Home Style" (family guy)

who are the other two?

So much love on here for the Roos coaching likelihood, that I fear the expectations for next year might already be exceeding what he can realistically achieve. Port Adelaide's fast rise is the standard probably, but if he achieves less than that, will we all be disappointed?

This is the kind of attitude you'd hope Roos' signing would eliminate

With untried coaches, the moment the club starts losing you wonder whether it's the coach. We did it with Bailey, we did it with Neeld.

With Roos, one of the many benefits is that, with his record, we won't need to start wondering if it's his ability. It won't be. It will be what Neeld wasn't able to properly display, due to his ineptitude - the MFC is coming from a long way back and time is required.

I heard this one too. Except that Ling and Black will be approached (Black hasn't even retired yet)

Will be announced tomorrow (Tuesday)

Sauce - colleague at work who got the mail from the brother of an MFC player

Was that a joke?

I am in agreeance with BH here it is not next year that excites me with Roos and I am under no illusion to a quick turn around.

Agreement. The word is AGREEMENT.

That thing you wrote is not a word, it's a modern distortion of a noun created by some clown who does not know his own language.

I have nothing to add on the Roos matter. It is clearly done and all that is left is the timing. We need something else to post about, preferably in real English. (Not

having a go at you PsD - just try not to murder the language again, pls.)

Lets see.

$1.6m in 2014

Less $400k for Craig who may get Lions job. That's $1.2m balance.

Conservatively lets say an extra 6000 members x$200 =$1.2m.

He is now at zero having paid for himself.

Hang on I forgot, extra sponsors, more foundation members and old ones topping up, more donors, that could be considerable amounts of money coming into the club.

Makes sense on a purely commercial basis anyway you look at it.

Hang on I forgot that maybe the team improves under him and then all those income streams keep increasing.

Seems pretty sound to me.

Yep, its certainly a very positive foundation to launch from... but I think our on-field transition will be a steady as she goes sort of improvement. I wonder if we'll pickup one of the old guard on a short term playing contract, from the Swans.

The AFL knows exactly what it is doing in this case. They want us up and running, so that it doesn't keep costing them money. Crap team equals poor attendances equals no interest equals poor TV ratings equals less revenue for the AFL. It is very simple. A strong MFC means more AFL revenue.

Brayshaw should shut his trap, as he knows this very well and also North has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of AFL handouts over the years.

I would just ask him one question. "Next time you play a home game against the MFC, do you want a big crowd or a small one?"

Mike Sheahans son is an associate of mine. He wouldn't put a source to his inside word but said was 99% sure it will be announced at our best and fairest and flung me a little wink afterwards.

He's either cheating on his wife with me, or Paul roos will be our coach next year.

Tony Sheahan broke this a long, long time ago. In fact Neeld was still in the hotseat.

he was widely derided on Twitter for this http://ynotmedia.wordpress.com/2013/05/08/paul-roos-a-demon/

Did I read somewhere that Barrett is a Roos supporter?Brayshaw has already toed this party line.North Melbourne are the biggest bunch of "What about me?", sooking club in the AFL. They have a gripe about every little thing that goes against them, and will continue to feel that while they were being pushed up North, and now left to their own devices, we are being given a golden ticket.I can understand that perception and frustration from their part, but they just always cry foul in the media. No one actually cares....

Very disappointing to hear that from Brayshaw. When North needed assistance I gave to the cause.

If that happens again he can GAGF as far as I'm concerned.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
