WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - PAUL ROOS

Just reported on The Footy Show that two smokies have emerged.

Eade was interviewed by the club last week and next week, he'll be interviewed by the Lions.

Further, the names that have emerged are Leigh Tudor and Adam Simpson.

I think that Tudor is at the Swans?

Anyway, make of it what you will.

If it was Barrett, then I will put my money on Kevin Rudd to coach us.

I felt we would smash Port in Round 1. Read my "Relax we've got this" thread. My feelings have failed me plenty of times. I'm just connecting some dots. But I could be a bit delusional because I want Roos.

So your track record is.............. rrr not that great!

Don't blame u mate I think pretty much all of us want Roos.

Hope it's not Neeld decision all over again where we rush it cause others are now in the race.

In saying that we are under new management so hopefully we are smarter about it THIRD time round.

Rushing to sign Neeld remains as conjecture as far as I know. It was just a poor, poor decision by those in charge to hand an absolute basket case to a bloke who was way out of his depth. This is why Jackson has repeated time and time again that the next senior coach must be experienced, and that's not just about the actual game itself.

To bring in another new senior coach is not what the club needs. It needs a coach who has experience in dragging a whole club up from the depths of despair.

Amen to that brother.

So who meets that criteria? Does it often take two rather than one coaching terms.

That would be bloody nice to have a coach for two terms something that we have not seen for a long time Hood and it would mean we are on the right track for once.

I think the next coach will have a long term deal which is what is needed to get this rabble into order.

I was told today that Brisbane consider Eade, Simpson and Worsfold the three front runners now, interesting they included Worsfold but they're very confident he won't be coach of WCE next year, make of that whatever you like.

did you here the one about the premiership coach apparently buying a house in perth?

Roos seems to have that effect,,,, thats why we need him. our players are too realistic for their own goods.

Only Damian Barratt could report Tudor and Simpson as smokies.

1. Simpson. Captain of his club, defensive and tough player, coaching under Clarkson who is flavour of the month (and rightly so) in terms of producing assistants and has already spawned Hardwick at Richmond and Cameron at GWS. He's the obvious choice for a first time head coach.

2. Tudor. Geelong VFL coach (VFL premiership) to Geelong assistant (premiership) to StKilda assistant under Ross Lyon (Grand finals) to Sydney (premiership). This guy clearly has the most outstanding record in the league for an assistant. And to me he'd also qualify under the 'experienced coach' phrase.

Would I feel more confident that we'd at least build a competent team capable of winning games if we went for Roos, Eade or Williams - of course I would. But that doesn't mean that these 2 shouldn't be interviewed. I hope PJ would feel the same way, especially about Tudor.

I'm like a catholic schoolgirl with a crush, desperately pining for Roos.

Fulltime blue sky junkie.

But if I connect the dots a little...

Lions are now sure they won't have Roos.

They also allegedly see Worsfold as a definite possibility.

Could this be because Roos told them his family would be moving to Perth?

Just putting it out there.

And I'd love Tudor as an assistant.

Success has followed him. But considering the successful programs he has been involved in, and the fact his name in all that time has NEVER popped up as a potential head coach, tells me that either he doesn't want to top job, or doesn't have the managerial skills for it, or whatever it is that might be missing that makes him not a legitimate candidate to sit in the hot seat.

With that in mind, I think the club will have interviewed both of Simpson and Tudor as assistants in a coaching dream team to support an experienced head coach.

And in line with my schoolgirl fantasy, I'll continue believe that is Roos until someone else is announced or he pops up somewhere else.

Expect a presser next Sunday the good old Ruddy boy will be available then!!

Ruddney Rude as Coach and Bull Shytten as Assistant, they'll both be out of a job. Although Bull may knife Ruddney in the back and we may finish up with Juliar.

Would be pretty happy with Tudor as a senior coach, he certainly knows what it takes to be successful at AFL level and get the best out of players.

I heard a rumour that Bill Murray will be the Coach in 2014, if this is true he will suck as a coach (so no change from Neeld) but he will surely make us laugh.

As MFC supporters we all do need a good laugh.

Hope the new coach is announced soon.

all things aside..

its fascinating, like a murder mystery, but we havent a body ( read evidence ) nor do we have a definite culprit. What we do have is a changed set of circumstances and we are processing the case regardless.

The games afoot :)

FERK no way muchacho.

Experienced, Experienced, Experienced and more Experience thanks.

Had enough of these trainees learning on the job at our expense.

Neeld was the wrong personality that was brought into a dysfuntional club when it was being run by incompetent people.

If a Simpson or Tudor were to be given the job now they'd have a much better chance than Neeld ever did. I have no direct knowledge of what sort of personalities they possess but if what I've read on here is anything to go by they'd engage well with most players/teams.

Still consider it to be too risky to try another virgin coach.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
