WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - PAUL ROOS

Roos just categorically stated that money is not the deciding factor and that he is NOT interested in coaching Melbourne. Also stated he has not spoken to anyone at the club since he spoke to PJ 3 or 4 weeks ago.

same questions as usual, roos still could not completely end the speculation. "right now i'm not interested in coaching in 2014" maybe he may he mite GMF? surprised no one has asked this yet. He would be heavily involved but of the spot light. Maybe roos as GMF and someone like ling as coach? That gets me excited. If its true about him getting pick to hand pick his group then being GMF would make sense, he would assemble the football department. Surely if he came on as coach he wouldnt pick GMF?

Masterfully answered the direct questions without saying anything. Basically said nothing has changed. The Melbourne position is attractive, but but that he hasn't made any further decisions.

Just watching Roos on the couch, I see why he is a $1.90 pop.

He just won't rule it out will he.... Hmmmm

Sheahan asked him 'you must know now if you want to coach melbourne next year surely? Roos replied at this stage he doesn't. Mike followed up with 'so you won't coach melbourne next year? Then roos wouldn't say directly but reiterated he spoke to Peter Jackson 3 weeks ago and things haven't changed.

Funny he won't answer anything directly but it appeared more no then yes.

Cagey man. Never seen him totally up front though.

If he said that then how is that not categorical ?

Nothing in concrete will be said by Roos or anyone else until the end of the year. Roos will continue to dodge the questions so we better get used to it.

Was the first topic they spoke about on the couch.. Roosy did say that "he has no interest in coaching Melbourne next year" also stated "As silly as it sounds, Melbourne is an attractive club to look at coaching"

Seriously? I thought it was the complete opposite and he refused to rule out coaching Melbourne.

The beauty of this situation is we have quality, experienced coaches available if Roos falls thru.

On one hand Roos say he won't coach Melbourne then MS basically says so in 2014 u won't be coaching the demons and Roos said something like I don't want to make a closed statement.

I am confused and admit I have no idea if he will or not

The whole Roos to melbourne situation is no different to Hird a few years back. Surely we all know there will not be a definitive answer or statement from Roos until the end of the year when there is either a press conference with Roos stating he is excited by the challenge of coaching one of the oldest clubs in the world blah blah. Or a few days before we announce our new coach Roos states he was never interested in the job and only had initial discussions with Peter Jackson and it never went further then that.

Well, I was just paraphrasing the words he used... he did say "no interest" and he did say money is not the selling point. I was hoping we would get him, but I seriously do not believe we will get him now based on those comments; and the club simply cannot afford to wait for him to make a decision at the risk of losing other potentials.

And GrimeisGreat... he said that he had spoken to no-one at the MFC since he spoke to PJ.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
