I agree I think it's pretty poor really - I wonder what Neeld was told after the board meeting a fortnight ago.

He would have been told he is being sacked but would have to wait until the AFL gave us the money for him to go

Neeld won't be happy - let's not try and convince ourselves that this is a win win for everyone. It might be a weight off stress wise, but he's now unemployed, and, and the thought that he's failed in his one shot at success at the highest level will burn. I really do feel for him, but that's not to say I don't think it's the right decision.

The team has not improved since Round 1 2012.

Now we find real coaches.

NO Coach will be successful with the current list as I have said all along..(least of all, Neeld) Hope we are looking for much better replacements for at least 10 players... OR nothing will change.. A new Coach will be given a much better list eventually than Neeld ever had and I don't doubt so will the MFC be given more assistance (from the AFL) Will be a totally different scenario..Hopefully we can change some of the "soft" culture that has developed at the MFC over the past almost 50 years... !!! Hard job ahead for ANYONE !! Love this club and is way past time things changed...

The previous coach, who was also no good and had no Clark or Dawes, won more games in his last half season than Neeld has in his entire 18 months.

We aren't suddenly going to be world beaters, but it can't get any worse.

The fact that he says even now that he wouldn't do anything differently, says to me he had no hope of turning his fortunes around.

It's never nice seeing someone lose their job, but I have never been more confidence of the club making the right decision than I am now.

Here we go again. This will add another who knows how long to the process of rebuilding.

I just hope there's a strategy and some serious planning behind this. If we've sacked him on the basis of speculation that someone else might be available I'm a bit nervous. Who would want the job? Seriously, what would motivate anybody with a reputation to risk it all at a club that flips and flops like a dying fish.

Seriously? Do you really think that telling a coach he is safe for the time being after the round before the bye and then telling him he is no longer required before the next game has been played, is handling this graciously? I agree that he was gone one way or another... but I beg to differ when it comes to your assessment of how the club has handled this.

Do you seriously believe that we will win those games simply because Neeld has been shown the door? I seriously hope I'm wrong, but I get the feeling that this season from hell will continue unabated.

I agree to the extent that we still have the same poor group of players to put on the park.

The up side as I see it is that someone in the club ( probably PJ ) has made the decision Neeld cannot produce the results.

The members / fans / sponsors also need confidence that there is a chance of improvement.

I havemy fingers crossed we can some how scrap up a couple of wins before seasons end.

This might just do it.

It also might give us a chance of keeping a couple of players on our list for 2014.
