GAMEDAY - Round 6

Luke Tapscott makes football worth watching.

The powers that be will not be happy that there is a man out there playing this game.

As much as they try to feminize football, if Tapscott plays hard and within the rules, the AFL can't do much about it.

Maybe it's the fact that roughly 50 pts down?

You see other clubs do it. They don't have to jump all over him, but FFS get over to your team mate, especially playing his first ham and congratulate him, you get long enough waiting for the tv break

No arguments with that mate. It's been the same for years.

Because women don't know how to play hard?

FFS.

Imagine if the game was in the balance with 2 minutes to go in the last and he pays that free kick and a 50 against the Tapp for just being harder at it and getting his body into a better posi. Disgraceful decision and one which could turn a game for a team.

And it should have been a loose ball in our forward 50. Instead a free to Carlton.

Umpire appreciation. Bruce has been pissing in their pockets all day too.

Then Noddy dog Watson chimes in with a few platitudes.

That's the problem RN we can ONLY imagine IF the game was in the balance.

Such a shame

Evans, Kent, goal.

Get more of these kids in Neeld and stop gifting games

Evans ruining to create space, had to wave McKenzie (?) Away form the ground. S more confident team would have all run forward hard. And well done Tappy. Hurting them is important.

3qtr time uncontested possessions:

CFC 151 MFC 104

Tackles CFC 67 MFC 46, despite CFC having the ball 61 more times.

Hardest team to play against?

Uncontested possessions are over rated. If MFC had hit targets and converted their chances, would have been a whole different ball game

Simple from here.

Another 12 goal quarter.

Not for us they're not. They show our lack of pressure and accountability, and that the zone isn't working. That's why I show that stat often.

Jack Trengove is absolutely useless

Not his fault Hogan. Neeld's for continuing to play him when he's clearly not up to this level atm. Blind freddy could see that last week when he got trounced by Beamer. But again, why the f#$k was he on Beamer in the first place? McKenzie or Jones every day. Not good for Trengove's confidence to get towelled by a former team mate. Should never have had the captaincy either. Just let him play & develop.

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute. He is slowly fitting into the team structure but without doing anything spectacular and needs to take further steps forward in 2025 for his career to progress.
