haha same

Add Fitzy and Seller to the mix and you have an all star line up

Fitzy form is much better than Sellars.

Id love to see Fitzy and Dawes in that forward line with Watts and Howe.

Magner to clear the ball and Kent to boot it long in there , with Gawny resting inside 50 as well.

If Fitzy is going to 'make it' his time is now....... What you say dosen't sound too bad DeeZee

Knowing the MFC's luck recently surely nothing good can happen in 2013 ;)

Kicking goals hasnt been our problem, its getting it out of the centre and inside fifty.

Enter one James Magner.

And then watch Neeld misuse him as a defensive half forward again!

I knew as soon as they said sprain in the same area as the lisfranc it was potentially bad news.

In a way this is a good thing compared to what could've happened.

The screw can be taken out and any scar tissue cleaned up. After a period of rest to whatever ligament is strained he might be well and truly healed.

Obviously Mitch's year is now down the drain but he won't need off season surgery.

It allows us to learn to play smarter footy. Also says to Dawes, Pedersen and Fitzpatrick please show us what you've got! Not to mention Magner must be upgraded.

Other teams get early prognoses' of worse outcomes but they end up being 1-2 weeks, it always seems like for us what appears to be an innocuous injury turns into a serious one.

Look at Lecras! He was meant to be out for ages and came back after 3 weeks!

Back luck (again) big fella. Come back fit, healthy, and hungry!

Isn't LTI 10 weeks minimum? As in if a player goes on LTI it is for a mandated 10 weeks at a minimum, then a rookie can be upgraded?

It's an 8 week minimum.

Took a while to confirm it, but managed to do it through an article on Gawn:

"The 208cm ruckman will be forced to stay on the LTI list for a minimum of eight weeks... The move gives the Demons the flexibility to promote a rookie if necessary"

We can't catch a break. This season is one from hell.

Good Times ...would you please refrain from rehashing old posts from last year...or the year before or ...freakin hell...whichever year!!!!

Dawes still at least a week away you'd think.

Gives Fitzy a chance to play for his AFL career at least.....

Watts, Fitzpatrick and a resting Gawn/Jamar as our tall targets against Carltank.

"Melbourne forward Mitch Clark will undergo minor surgery on his right foot, and will miss the next 6-8 weeks of football."

http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2013-04-30/clark-to-miss-up-to-two-months

Definitely not the best news!

Not the best new, however, there are a few positives.

  • Mitch Clark will have the screw removed and play the last 8-10 games and have a FULL PRE SEASON at years end.
  • Magner or Couch can be elevated from the rookie list to provide much needed grunt in the middle, and maybe lift the clearance stats. (that is of course Clark can be put on the LTI list)
  • Jack Watts to play up forward. I know I will be shot down for this, however, Watts will have more help in the forward line..

Thats my view on it all, I do not see this as doom and gloom.

Don't fear. I've heard that Melbourne's doctors are considering a new experimental surgery where they will attempt to remove Mitch's heart and insert it into Jack Watts' chest as a temporary measure. They'll then place the heart in Mitch's chest again after 8-10 weeks. We'll be fine.

Ahhh a Jack Watts joke... It used to be said "sarcasm is the lowest form of humour", but these days i think it's Watts jokes.

Watts and dawes up forward won't be too bad, just hope the big fella is alright!

Yeah nah, just takin' out the metal so the hole can be replaced with some bone growth (rather than bone growing over the fastener(s)).

Thinking of Magner or Couch:

Possibility might have a better midfeild and Clark still being able to get a few games at the end of the season/full preseason:

Get better soon Mitch!

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
