INJURY LIST - ROUND 5 - aka the Dave Misson Appreciation thread

Melbourne is nearing a full strength list, with just Clark and Dawes on the injury list this week.

Round five injury list

Mitch Clark (foot) test

Chris Dawes (hamstring) test

That is incredible.

Injured Demon Clark down, but not out for the count

they the fd have always said the 3 preseason fitness regime would pay off. hopefully this could be the signs of what they have been saying all along. time patience and everybody talking positive about our reserves is what we need to continue untill the end of 2014

Dawes said he would be playing seniors in 2-3 weeks, so he thinks a game or two for Casey and straight in, with Clark missing def this week, not sure about the week after he just may be back in two.

He did say they had gradually built him up this time so the chance of reoccurrence is very small.

I really rate Dawes and if he can get back to the promise he was showing before his hand injury, we will have a top player who will be a leader for the club. I'm not really superstitious, but I am now touching all the wooden furniture here, which has been made a little harder by all the toes and fingers I am now crossing in response to the opening post. Doesn't make it easy to type either lol

What he doesn't tell us is the status of Dunne and Joel Mac so we really don't know how prepared they are and whether they need a run at Casey. Yesterday Viney looked to be struggling with that ankle and may be rested. Easy to forget that Toumpas and Sellar didn't get a game at all on the weekend.

No, the thread starter.

So few things go right for us, why tempt fate?!

We are one Nathan Jones injury away from packing up and calling it a season.

Good God, just IMAGINE how bad we'd be without Jonesy?!!!! Whilst he's no Chris Judd, he's the guts and heart, in fact the whole viscera, of this team. Not sure I can think of any player who's been more important to the MFC in the context of the time he's playing in. And his game to game resilience for his career thus far is Stynes and Tuck-like. Touch wood people!!!!!!!!!!

Doc Larkins just said on 3AW that Mitch Clark's foot has swollen up and that he's looking at "extended time". He said it's more than just a sprain, as the club is saying.

Doc Larkins is the WebMD of footy people, can we just wait and see please? They've confirmed it's not Lisfranc.

Pity those two are our most important players forward. Not much they can do about that though.

you know Larkins works with the bulldogs and essendon doctor and the former Melbourne doctor.

And you know a lisfranc is a mid foot fracture dislocation and clark has a midfoot strain. It's like the compare the market and compare the meerkat ad. Simples

Without having seen the updates, are Gillies and Stark mentioned? As they have also been missing through injury of late..

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

Many warned that this was a danger game and the Demons were totally outclassed all game by a young Eagles team at Optus Stadium in Perth as they were defeated by 35 points.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
