I know with past performances it is going to be hard to fill the MCG but can we pull together and make sure that if we know of anyone who is a supporter encourage them to make it to the game on Sunday. Otherwise it will be like a morgue (hopefully not). The boys have in the past have commented on what it is like when we supporters make a lot of noise. Get round them on Sunday.

Kind of getting sick of these, "I know the club isn't performing better but let's get out there and support the boys" threads.

Most people have already made up their minds. The pity and sympathy around here is getting too much to handle.

During the first half last Saturday, it didn't sound like a crowd of 18,000-odd.

Then again, neither did the second half......

13,980 is my prediction, given the forecast for rain.

Can I triple like this

MCG are expecting 17,000 and that sounds about right

Games against interstate clubs always sound loud ... at least for the small crowd. Good that Melbourne fans sit so close together in one half of the ground. From AFL Members it sounds very loud.

It is not pity or sympathy. It's called support.

What do you suggest they do? If people don't attend, then the club is in deeper trouble financially and those players who are giving their all (yes, there are some) will start to doubt the value in doing that.

I think I read in the footy record last week that the public can have a kick on the G at the end of this match. That might attract a few more along - especially the kids.

No reason for us to wait til the end of the game.... we should be able to rustle up 22 team jumper owning supporters to throw in from the first bounce.... at least there would be an excuse for not knowing the game plan

I'm a sadist, I'll be there. I reckon 16k will be about it, although with GWS injuries we may get 20k as people may show up to possibly see a win......maybe........

The players and coaching staff have some control over the crowd at our next home game.

But not this one. 16k.

Never been into not turning up to a game, but each to their own, and as I am in Hobart and for various reasons I will not be getting to many games who am I to talk anyway. I would urge people to turn up though. There is always something to support, even if it is only one of our kids that you really like.

I can't bear the thought of the crowd number on the Mother's Day twilight game v's Gold Coast...if we're 0-6.

I reckon they'll be lucky to get 15 v GWS. There was a good number of west coast fans that jacked the number to 18k.

I believe from a previous source that anything less than about 22500 we write a check to the mcc

That is two checks in two weeks That is how clubs go out of business

If we win, the fans should be able to go on the ground and throw tomatoes at a caged Tom Scully in the centre.

If not, bring a SIGN HERE SCULLY sign (Double meaning).

Or just bring your money bags and shout at him during the warm up.

But please do turn up, I have my deepest sympathies

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
