2. get midfielder

3. get midfielder

4. get midfielder

5. get midfielder

6. get small forward

Agree. With one change.

6. get small forward who can regularly rotate through the midfield (which by the by is the role i reckon Roos will try Jetta in)

No, Neville Jetta is the next best small forward don't need Betts (Although he could help out Jetta)

" With a lack of small forwards at the club, the Blues have been linked to Sydney’s Tom Papley and Richmond’s Liam Baker."

Papley, Baker, Betts - Surely we can nab one of them.

Sorry for digging up old threads Mods, but as far as i'm concerned, it's trade week already. And i'm sure someone else also gets kicks out of reading threads from years ago.

One of the great small fwd. he has been off a little this year. Imagine he’ll retire

100% i would. i genuinely believe a lot of his issues this year have had more to do with the crows setup than him, if we could nab him cheaply i'd 100% go for it.

If he came cheap I would. He is a match winner and a massive upgrade on Garlett. If his head is right he could go another couple of years, as I believe he doesn’t have significant history of injuries.

I would like him on the list, just because it would make our club more popular.

He can football better than several on our list as well, even though he is at retirement age.

We need some indigenous x-factor. They exist in the draft, as most other clubs seem to find them, but Eddie would not be a good option at his stage of career.

It would be great to have a small forward of Eddie’s capabilities to play deep forward!

Goodwin’s game plan doesn’t accomodate that! And it should...

Dees should be chasing Bolton from the Tigers. Can play forward, midfield, etc. Genuine X-factor and legs that run...

Tigers certainly have a number of smalls who are gettable. Baker, Bolton and Butler.

Butler will likely be the one to make way.

Depends on the situation, get him for nothing and he could add value. For me though I think we should be looking elsewhere, maybe try drafting in (maybe a slightly mature player).

Eddie will be 33 at the start of next year and have at least 312 games under his belt.

Great player, great career, but time's up.

I’m not sure stating somebody’s age and the amount of games they’ve played constitutes a strong argument for retirement (Dustin Fletcher).

We saw some pretty wonderful passages of play from Eddie Betts this season. I believe he’s still got that incredible capacity to make all the difference when scores are level with a couple of minutes to go.

It absolutely does in this case. I think his career is likely done, or should be.

I'll agree to disagree

Agreed Moonie.

We need a good small forward, but you get the feeling Eddie is past it.  Can still produce some magical goals, but they are few and far between now.  He has lost a step of pace and that has allowed mid size backmen to take him out of the game all too often.
