that was interesting, & I reflected on both, but mainly the second part.

as a teacher i see it every day in my kids. and then i imagine them driving cars. then i get motivated to teach (amongst other motivations of course).

i DEFINITELY see it in caroline wilson. inability to reflect and see comments/actions are wrong and then think they are right as a result? sums her up to a T

The CW opinion in the end was:

- AA was process driven, by the book

- GM is a deal maker

Therefore, this won't go to the commission, GM will make a deal & this will quickly get sorted and go away.

Lets hope this is the case JM but there has to be a verdict of Not Guilty to go with it.

I applaud Garry for taking her on and defending us but I would suggest unfortunately it was nil all draw. Lots of haymakers thrown and lots of clinches but not much landing.

I loved watching Gary fight caro but it would have been good to get one killer blow at the end to shut her up. No matter what anyone says though she speaks a whole lot of crap and seems to weasel her way out of being accountable. So annoying.

Overall good work by Gaz though.

At one point she said to Gary 'do you want me to name names', and got no response. He should have said yes, now that would have been interesting.

Well the new chap does have an opportunity to show some wisdom beyond his years.

I hope for everybodys sake he shows it, or AA may as well still be in the "frenzy position" .

The Richmond bloke kicked one out of his backside in the nanoseconds and here we are on on page 86 courtesy of two highly credentialed accusers in Caroline Wilson and Brock McLean and the AFL has run with it.

Sort it quick Gil or let it go to court.

What a joke.!

Just amazing to me!

It was my first serious foray into the tanking situation tonight. Don't get me wrong, i was aware of what was going on, just never really thought anything would happen mostly because it can't be proved, and or both parties don't want it to go any further than it already has. Having just watched footy classified which some of you are talking like it was a huge beat down on Caroline Wilson, i have to say that this whole thing has been such a giant waste of time.

Having heard the "witch" "cow" and other names which are way too harsh on someone just for their opinion...just say nothing will happen, i can't help but feel sorry for the people with the unnecessary levels of stress that seem to be prevalent in this thread.

It's a shame really, i love demonland, the training reports, the hot off the press info on teams and such, but having this thread sitting on the top of the pile for so long has really been a drainer... i hope for all our sakes, not just us demonlanders, that we can move on soon. You can seriously go from page 40, to 60 and have 2 people still saying the same arguments, and not budging at all. It's a shame that the people with the most stubborn and incessant opinions are also the loudest on this website.

You familiar with the saying "you can't have your cake and eat it too"?

If the sanctions described on FC come to fruition (suspensions for CC, DB & a fine) I would be doing cartwheels as we would have dodged a nuclear bomb.

I thought it made great television but lacked the presence of Grant Thomas who I don't believe would have suffered the foolishness of Wilson's defence of her article.

She point blank refused to respond to McLardy's message which very clearly refuted every point she's made in her rants against the Melbourne Football Club. She knew she was beaten there so decided to obfuscate by saying she was dealing with this so-called "unofficial defence" which is a stupid furphy. Unofficial defences mean jack [censored] and she knows it.

She also demonstrated that she failed to brief herself properly about the news published in both the Age and the Hun while she was away about allegations that the interrogation involved questions about fumbling and why we didn't play Jack Watts more than three times in 2009. More embarrassment.

Then she questioned Garry's credibility and at that point she was totally lost.

I scored it Lyon by a decisive points margin. If she was ever put in a witness box to put her point under cross examination by someone like Fink and it would be an early KO in the first round.

BTW: She was pretty weak on the Essendon drug story and unconvincing on Dustin Martin.

My read is that our legal strategy been to get the AFL to put in words a definition of tanking for when there is no allegations of the players not trying to win. Logically there would no way for the AFL to draft such a definition that did not ensnare Carlton and the Kreuzer Cup, or the Pies run of losses to get a priority pick that gave them both Pendlebury and Thomas instead of one of them, or Richmond and Wallace's "I made no moves". Punish us harshly and the tanking issue will stay alive as long as those clubs are not punished. The AFL would know that and Gill Mc is probably trying to work out how to extricate the AFL from Anderson's mess. Like he said these things are hard to prove which of course is what the AFL have to do if they want to punish us.

When Garry called her out on the assertion that the media never questioned the players performance she responded in a very interesting manner. She actually looked stunned, her arms crossed and she retracted back in to her seat in a typical fight or flight response that was also an over reaction. The over reaction is also a typical response of someone who is not being totally honest and overcompensates when challenged. She then feigned ignorance but her physical leakage was copy book, She knew that she had been caught out. Her next response was also indicative of someone who knew that she was exposed. By going on the attack and questioning Garry's integrity she gained valuable thinking time, and was able to bury that question. Make no mistakes she was lying about that particular question. Or at least unofficially she was.

Garry got too heated and emotional and couldn't nail her. I understood the point he was trying to make as caro flip flopped about the MFC defence. - what nonsense - we have an official and unofficial defence.......plllleeeaassseeee.

He did call her out on the players being questioned about them fumbling and her response........ She didn't know that they were accused of that.....

She is extremely clever... Garry didnt land a telling blow on her.

Agree nutbean.

From memory it was Ralph, Clark and Pierik who wrote about the fumblings etc when she was off. But surely she must have been aware of those accusations.

Garry got a little heated about her questioning his credibility.

When he brought up The Don nailing her on 7 points in his statement you could see her re-counting ..."hangon....seven?...no it was 5..." Lol!

Word on Demonology is that Bails has not been charged with anything...

What? Not charged with trying his "utmost"???? What a shock.

Have they amended the charge to trying really really hard but not hard enough???

You're not suggesting she peed herself on national television, are you?

Sorry Whispering. Physical leakage is when a person starts to lose minor control of their body language. Slumping in chairs, restless feet, incessant finger tapping, dry lips are typical indicators .It has to be said that in an extreme case it can indeed result in people losing control of their bladder, however I am not suggesting that in this case, although only the studio cleaner will ever really know.

Thank god for that. I was starting to think I needed a bigger TV screen to catch all the action.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
