Would love fitzpatrick to push for pedrtsons spot

Bail should come on, most of his game is there just needs to start hitting targets

I agree about Fitzpatrick. At 202cm and 100kg I cannot see why he isn't the potential power-forward of the comp. Let Pederson stay in the backline to cover Rivers' former role and provide back-up to Watts, Frawley, Garland and McDonald.

Strauss, Tapscott and McKenzie.

With a good preseason and some faith from the coaches I can see Strauss solidifying a best 22 spot. Tapscott played a few good games in fits and spurts but if his fitness comes up to the mark then he'll start to show us how dangerous he can be with his aggression and kicking. Lastly McKenzie with a preseason (touch wood) could take his game from decent tagger to top level shut down player who can also win the ball. Jordie might never be the best kick or a 30 touches guy but he's as tough as anyone in close so I see no reason why he can't add contested ball winning to his game.

Don't get carried away about Nicholson he's always been a great runner but if he can't improve his kicking or his decision making then he won't make it as a player.

And Fitzpatrick is so far off AFL standard as big forward, sorry guys. His really mobile so in a way he can play a tall forward pocket role and try and get a mismatch and then provide back up in the ruck but he doesn't have the experience or natural body work to be a key forward target. What I hope for Fitzpatrick is that he keeps working on his ruck work so that he has that area up to scratch and that he can play a lot of VFL as a tall forward target and improve his strong marking ability. At the moment any good defender can work him off the ball. He kicks a lot of goals in the VFL because of his mobility rather than his physical presence. With the clean out the Casey VFL forward line at this stage really is Fitzpatrick and Hogan with big Spencer and Gawn sharing ruck so I hope he can prove me wrong and come on a lot quicker.

Well picked about Gawn and Spencer honing their ruck skills in the VFL with Hogan and Fitzpatrick as key forwards, however it would be good to see the Scorpions doing better than minor premiers or runners-up as i am sick of seeing them get bundled out of the finals so esily in straight sets!

Michael Evans if he gets some games, which I think he will in the second half of the season when other midfielders are rested.

of our new recruits, the two i think that will improve the most are dawes (playing where he should be) and Pedersen as he will actually be playing games.

Of the players already on our list i think Sylvia will improve again, he was beggining to show signs of consistency during the year and that was after he had fractured his back! Mitch clark should also have an improved year, but only because he may play out the whole season, i don't think he could improve too much on his season this year when he actually played.

Rory Taggert could give it a good dip, if he can get his body right!

Jack watts will have a year which makes us realize why he was a number one draft pick.

Tapscott will cement his spot In the side also.

Would love to see big seasons from Strauss, Jetta and Evans

Dawes will suprise a lot of people.

Davey is my smoky from biggest improver, he's coming from far enough back whilst his best is so good, that there is scope for one of the biggest improvements of all time.

I agree, I reckon in a similar way Clark has surprised everyone this year. People scoffed when we gave up pick 12 for him but Neeld and co clearly could see the ability and attitude that he is displaying now. Being played out of position at Brisbane was a big factor in his improvement at the MFC too.

Dawes is a very similar situation - has the ability (I believe), from all reports a great attitude and was played out of position at Collingwood the last one or two seasons - can't wait to see him tear it up in the red and blue.

Max Gawn

That's cheating.

He only has to get on the park once.

would love to be able to type Bail or Tapscott with confidence but don't think it will happen for either

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
