This is where you are wrong, Sydney is unable to trump its competitors, it has lower picks, but Adelaide has to accept them as it agreed to this draft tampering arrangement. The very reason Mitch Clark came to Melbourne was that Freo was unable to satisfy Brisbane with the picks they had, Mitch was happy with both contracts, but the fact Melbourne could trump them in the trade period meant he came to us. This is the very process which has been rorted by Tippett's deal

The way I see it is that ( and correct me if I am wrong) Sydney's 1st pick is 23 and they offered this and Jessie White to Adelaide. They do not have a pick under 23.

As it stands Adelaide has not accepted the second round draft pick and therefore the draft has not been tampered.

And in actual fact pick 23 is Sydney's FIRST round pick so that would get around the 'draft me for a second round pick'

In fact Adelaide would not even accept a 1st round pick and this is even better the secret deal that was made.

Sydney's 2nd round pick is no 45 and if the secret deal is to be complied with, this is all Sydney has to offer.

So where is the tampering?

What will happen is that the trade will go through because if it doesn't there could be court action (restraint of trade etc) which is where the AFL doesn't want to go.

I think Adelaide will be told to do the trade and the tampering and extra payment issues will go away.

The AFL and its intrepid team of investigators are nothing, if not thorough.

A few poorly phrased sentences uttered by a total buffoon in response to some leading questions from older, wiser and more experienced heads with ulterior motives has led to a three month investigation into something variously described as "tanking" or "experimenting" and whose end seems out of sight.

Consider Adelaide then. As evidence of salary cap rorting mounts, it's becoming clear that if the AFL is to conduct a proper investigation, its officers will need to examine the contracts, not only of all currently listed players, but those of players from past years as well.

Since the AFL cannot be told to hurry up matters, I fully expect this process to take months. Possibly years. Every nook and cranny must be explored and I can picture Wood and Clothier travailing over every inch of Rundle Mall, magnifying glasses in hand, in search of truth, justice and the AFL way!

Even if it takes until 2019 to get to the bottom of this, it's the only fair thing to do in the interests of our game.

Just on trade radio now. No Tippet deal allowed by the AFL.

In fact The crows are not allowed to do anymore trading in this draft. AFL have raided and taken computers records etc. Don't think that has every happened before.

I hope the player managers get their butts kicked too.

Blucher and Lynch deserve to go.

And a review of the Scully deal is warranted as well given those two were involved up to their eyeballs

I was saying Velocity Sports were snake oil salesman over 18 months ago. They should be barred from representing AFL players permanently.

Why mate?

I sure don't want him back.

Only a small joke as I know what you mean.

Remember that saying "every dog has his day"

Did anyone win out of this mess.

Ok bring on the tank issue now.

The game, after the warning is understood.

see Lan' ' ' 'mstrong's ways of treating sport & competitions.

This would have been decided days ago & now the public theater is being seen.

As I understand it, the only reason this came to light is because Tippett's father launched legal proceedings to enforce the additional agreement so Kurt could be traded to the Swans. The Crows forwarded the agreement on to the AFL to seek advice on whether it could be enforced.

Sounds like a case of dumb and dumber.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
