Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Latest murmurings of a crazy time

Sure would. I would see it as a direct swap from Watts for Hogan.

Hogan being the player that we always had hoped Watts would become.

But is the person we are gaining at pick 4 better than Watts now that the Hogan trade is done is my point? i dont think they will be.

Hogan has not played a game yet olisik.

We probably had the same opinion on Watts when he was drafted.

I will believe Hogan is the "great white hope" when I see it until then he is an early draft pick with potential.

Who says we'll get Wines? My mail is that Whitfield, Toumpas and Wines will go in the first three.

GWS will trade a ruckman in and won't draft one is the thinking. I'm surprised but it's a very educated view.

So if that eventuates, who is next in line?

A bit off topic, but still a murmuring of a crazy time (or in this case, crazy man). Can this man McGuire say anything more ridiculous? What an attention seeking shock-jock.

i also saw that and was unsure whether to laugh or wince.

He plays a very strange game of chess does Eddie !!! Lol

i don't want to get involved with them to nab any of these picks.

they may say they're willing to trade that plethora of picks, but you can be certain that the only ones that are truly on the table are #12 and #13.

no way they'll let the top 3 go.

and if they do go whitfield, toumpas, wines, under no circumstances should we not select grundy - the guy has all the tools to be a monster ruckman in the afl, equivalent to a dean cox-type who can play in the ruck, run all day, take contested marks to save games, and go forward to kick goals.

if he's available, really hope we take him.

This is ridiculous.

This sort of talk has contributed to jack watts slower than expected development.

Hogan is 17 years old, to expect him to come out and amaze the crowd is stupid.

Do not expect him to come out day one and exhibit 'great white hope' skills.

He's a kid, im expecting him to play as good as any other first year player.

Stop hyping him up.

He cost quite a bit.

He is 195cm and 98 kgs and he uses his body like he knows those stats.

We can hope.

Right at the minute, that is all we have got.

Jack Watts unwillingness to put his body on the line is the reason for his slow development. It has nothing to do with Demonland posters. And the massive expectations for Watts are well gone by most. The person Watts needs to blame looks back at him in the mirror.

There is a reason that your club just paid pick 3 for Hogan, plus more. A lot of thought went into that decision. And they didn't do it unless they shared my and others expectations.

If you think of the exact opposite key forward to Watts picture Hogan. By all means keep your expectations in check, but don't tell me what to do with mine.

Neeld said a similar thing in his presser about managing expectations of Hogan. The guy's 17 years old, I think he said something like 'we have to keep our expectations in check' or similar. I felt there was a little more he wanted to say about how Watts was handled but he kept it to himself.

If, they wanted a Key defender, & if the rumors were true, that Frawley was restless & he wanted to leave, then I'd want compensation of they're picks 2 & 13.

Otherwise I would consider packaging Jamar & Garland, for GWS's 3 & 13.

Or Jamar for 12.

They can have dunn for a 2nd Rnd pick.

Those bemoaning the quality of the current game are probably whining about the lack of good silent movies as well. It can get congested at times hence we're moving to a 2 and 2 interchange. The current game has a far higher skill level, is much more physical and asks much more of players.

all true, but that doesn't mean it is more enjoyable to watch necessarily.

Can't understand this craving to give away our mature performers so we can draft some more 18 year olds who may not have any impact for two years, if at all.

Orrrrr........ we could give them Jones and Dunn for pick 1, Chip and pick 20 for pick 2, Howe for pick 3 and Silvia for pick 13.

Why keep experience when we could have picks 1, 2, 3 and 13!

You didn't read my first line.

I don't want Frawley to go at all. That must just be Your Perception.

But I am into trading to further our list & talent.

IF, Frawley wanted out,,,, as some rumours say,,,, & he were to be determined to go,,, that is what I would want.

# alternatively, as GWS have put picks up for trade I would consider Jamar, maybe Garland, certainly dunn, & Martin. But the latters wouldn't command much

I would offer TMac for a top 3 pick if they wanted a Key back

One of the few players to progress under Neeld and there is so much more upside - a player that can progress to be the cornerstone of our backline - but lets trade him out for an untried. Just gosh.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
