WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CAMERON PEDERSEN

Thanks Ben-Hur. Geez they really bag out his attitude on that forum, with comments like "My mail is that the old phrase "there's no I in Team" hasn't quite sunk in for Pedo". Well it might be all hearsay I guess.

Sounds a bit like a certain Mr Newton...Picket Fence will be over the moon if we get him ;-)

The following link is a fascinating read on BF's North forum. Pedersen is certainly rated by nearly every supporter, but clearly has been out of favour and seemingly not well liked by the playing group and coaches. And there's no denying that his numbers stack up well in 2011. As a third banana behind Dawes and Clark, Pedersen would be a valuable player and a difficult match-up for the opposition. And Neeld seems keen to keep developing Howe's midfield ability.

I'm only 5 pages into the thread I'm about to post, but it certainly alleviates doubts about his playing ability. I've always liked what I've seen of Pedersen, but it's nice to get the view of the supporters in question.

I had a read there the other day and was surprised - the comments on the official NM website below an article or his profile (can't remember which) also were glowing about him and couldn't believe they were going to get rid of him. As far as I can gather the "questions" about his character seem to amount to his dissatisfaction with not being given a go especially considering Tarrant & Hansen were given multiple opportunities without showing much.

ive heard there are attitude issues which could mean not getting along with Scott or other players or genuine problems. I hear neeld has avoided a number of players because of concerns re attitude and or discipline so that makes me wonder,

But still as Ron Burgundy says - he looks too good for north to be so desperate to discard and for no other team seriously interested.

Who wouldnt have an attitude problem if you believe you are better than some of the others getting games ahead of you. His VFL form and the few clips I have seen backup his belief that he should be in an AFL side, he is certainly good enough to be in Melbourne's afl side, so let hope it happens, then his attitude problem will disappear.

The good thing was that no one was able to absolutely confirm there was a problem it was "I was told by someone who knew someone else" so I guess we don't really know and I would hope that the FD have done their homework. If it was the previous FD I wouldn't be so sure.

Yes, but more specifically, has he asked for a trade to us?

I remember there being an article on the melbourne website saying that He had requested a trade to the dees, but i can't seem to find it, I may be getting mixed up with the dawes article. I'd say he would be happy to come to us though as he would be guaranteed good opportunity playing for us, far more than he is currently getting at north :)

Comparing Pedersen to Newton is off the mark. For a start, Pederson has already shown that he belongs (refer to 2011 season). I had him in my Supercoach team and he was a consistent solid scorer playing primarily in the backline. The fact that he has been very effective as a forward at VFL level underlines his versatility. Newton never looked like he belonged at AFL level, not once... well apart from that mark!

There is thinking you are better the right way and the wrong way, let actions do the talking, bad attitude effects the whole team imo. Itis hard batting down the order when you are better than some of your peers but that doesnt give you a tight to be a doosh.

And we my have used Pick 13 as it was, for something as well.

In my mind it was 3 for Viney, 13 for Hogan and Barry and 26 for Dawes.

And i cannot see a fault in this assuming peopel can accept if we didnt deal then we were paying pick 3 for Viney anyway.

Great summation, however, he had a great year this year, but sadly couldn't break into a strong tall Kangaroo team.A great pinch hit ruck man, versatile as you stated- either back or forward.A great pick up IMO.

Is that a rant picket??? what a pathetic word rant is. I would call your post honest. nothing more nothing less.

If thats a rant, the world is sicker than I thought. and no wonder our club is in the Poo.

I spose vagueness of form and maleable terms as "Rant" can be taken as the most vehement way of getting a point across!

I have used the venacular "Rant" in this context of "Expression of opinion" not extremely nor with malice just as Expression nothing more nothing less.

You'll know when I fire up, but this wasn't the intention with that particular post.

Cheers

Ps I would still love to get Pederson (Even with sans reported Issues) over the line and having seen Faren Ray's highlights package I must admit I may have misjudged him . I reckon the package as Mooted in the HUN this morning should be pushed with everything we have.

Go for it Dees!

Remember a guy called Jack Darling?

Seems he was not wanted either

Interesting that the North boys in that thread want Gysberts in return.

Having looked at the clips of Cam Pederson on this site, I simply cannot believe we are the only club into him and that North want to get rid of him.

What are we missing here?

Feel the same 'Ron', looking at some of his AFL highlights something is not right. He really looks the goods. Can't see the problem with him working as a team player, looks to give off to teammates in better position. What gives?

I'm pretty sure the way this FD is looking at things they would not entertain him if they thought he had an attitude problem.

Personally dont see where the club get can justify spending a high pick on a player that doesnt get close to their senior side. They dont want him and he wants out, why pay overs? How could North even expect overs for him?

I am with you here.

Just what IS wrong with him - sure Norf have lots of talls, but others don't yet we are the only interested party?

I just hope our stand in recruiting team have done their due diligence and we don't find out too late that he is some toxic psychopath!

PS: at 193 cm is he seriously considered a back up ruck man as well? 193! Does he possess some incredible leap, that Norf and nobody but us recognize?

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
