Kurt Tippett

Carltank must also come into play for Tippet and perhaps the Tigers. Still hard to see him going anywhere but up north.

I refuse to believe the Pies could have paid in line with Tippetts expectations and meet Adelaides compesation requirements. It's just not feasible.

I think we are a possible suitor for Dawes now with Lynch committing to the Pies.

Seriously, player contracts need to become public knowledge, as is custom in sports around the world. That Collingwood could afford a huge offer to Tippett smells of complete rort.

Think we will find a lot of deal being done with Dawes/Brown & Wellingham being off loaded to ease salary cap restictions

Kurt Tippet Update:

Tippett looks set to don the black and white next season, with close sources saying he had already met with Collingwood recruitment staff Derek Hine and Matthew Rendell.

"The Magpies are expected to find $1.15 million of salary cap relief - of which at least $800,000 would be needed for Tippett - by trading key forward Chris Dawes and midfielder Sharrod Wellingham and listing four veterans next season."

...

Adelaide believe Tippett will line up for Collingwood in season 2013. Adelaide and Collingwood will speak more over the next 24 hours to get a deal done early in trade week.

The trade involves moving pick 17 they will receive for Wellingham to the eagles and on trade that, and their pick 18 to Adelaide for Kurt Tippett.

That leave Adeliade with picks 17, 18 and 19 in the first round of the draft.

Tippett will formally announce this afternoon which club he intends to go to.

Source?

I didn't think you could have more than 2 veterans on your list? Or has that changed recently?

Apparently it's all about the best offer now nothing to do with going home. Clearly success is not the only component otherwise he would stay at the crows so unless anyone knows officially otherwise we are well positioned if he is on our radar ?

If this trade happens (unlikely), then i'd expect there would be a good chance Dawes would be wearing red and blue next year

A few clubs might be interested if he were publicly available though.... Us, Carlton, possibly Dogs. He is still young enough to appeal to a lot of clubs without good key forward prospects.

vet rules have changed. you can have as many vets as you want. 100k of each vet will be excluded from salary cap.

If they trade Dawes and Welligham they will have find enough. Dawes would be on decent coin.

I reckon its all player manager leeks to gey a better deal from Qld clubs

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
