I'v looked but cant see a thread for this bloke. Odd really

Yes he's no spring chook but would think he'd have 2 or so years left in him.

Good mark, good kick. make a great 2nd up front man who can pinch hit the rucking aroung the sharp end if needed ( like Mitch )

Could prove an interesting pair up with Clark

Apparently not impressed with whats on offer at Weagleland in 013

Mr Glove could be an interesting fillip whilst a younger brood of forwards comes on

dont want him, dont rate him.

I actually dont really rate Cloke either because when things are tough and at Melbourne they are always tough.. he wouldnt perform

Its amazing how many posters on these boards don't rate players that get regular games in sdes much better than our own

Wasnt interested initially but as the FA list shortens his value as a stay at home forward increases, especially if we draft/recruit some good quick crumbing types (which we surely must).

The more time clark can spend in the forward line and outt of the ruck the better

well..stay at ahome ? often cruises up the wing to pick up a stray incoming or creat an option. Quite a smart player really.

Id much rather him ( QL ) than TC as I think the pairing with Mitch would be much better. Wouldnt get in each others way

and cough, did I mention save a forturne.

I reckon a 2 year deal might interest him

Like Mitch hes a very good grab. Mids etc knowing that the chances of their forward 50 thrusts coming off might make them a littel more confident about the path taken. Put a lot of pressure on backs.

I wouldnt mind him. Obviously Collingwood concur...but hey..what would they know

I might be wrong, but didn't Cloke almost single handedly drag Collingwood back into the game when they were under all sorts of pressure, during last year's finals series?

This sums it all up! This post must be put on the demonland banner until the trade/draft period is over as it sums up this place (demonland) perfectly during this time of year.

Well done.

yeah, i agree. we have to have a crack at him and offer something decent $ wise for a 2 year deal.

he is a wrecking machine, and if we get him he will most likely be getting the opp number 2 defender - and at 103 kg's and he can monster players around.

if cloke leaves collingwood though we can forget about getting lynch though.

looks like Q Lynch will be carlton/collingwood bound

got a bad feeling we are going to end up with dawes. lynch looks like he will go to carlton or collingwood depending on what cloke decides to do. essendon may release gumbleton, but dont really know if we want him given his chronic injury troubles.

One lesson to take from last year; if the Fat lady aint singing , then theres been no signing !!

yeah - agree, its not over till its over, but if you were to think it through and put if you put yourself in Lynch's shoes. you would want to be playing at a club that is playing finals and that can afford what you want on a 2 yr deal

both clubs can offer this to Lynch. If Cloke goes to carlton then the pies will have significant space to get him and will not only be playing finals for the next two years, but most likely a good chance at GF's. would have thought from there the pies would like to do a swap for dawes for martin.

if the blues cant get cloke then the they have more than enough space in the cap to get Lynch. dont know if it counts for anything but playing with his old premiership captain, and (most likely coach) wouldn't hurt the deal.

then there's us - who would appear a bit of basket case at the moment.

we would have to throw an obscene amount of money at Lynch to attract, which i dont think is anyones interest, as Lynch is not an out and out superstar but a proven, good solid CHF type.

Yes Dawes is a premiership CHF, and i think he had a good year (possibly 2) at the pies, but that was with excellent delivery from their mids, and not only his confidence worries me, but he seems to have a sort of worried/confused look about him when he plays. i don't know if he is a natural footballer and think it would be tough for him to thrive at melbourne where the delivery is not as great from the mids.

anyway time will tell i suppose!!!

Big Q Lynch could move

ok...im a fan. I think hed really add something to the front end. Ability , experience, maturing and to say nothing of a really good pair of mitts that pair up well with an ability to hoof a ball well, and accurately.

By his self he isnt the beez neez. Added to Clark... and we get seriously sharp !!

are we the other club ??

I bloody hope so. I cant for the life of me see how the Filth can afford too much more, well certainly not more than we could be genourous enough to offer.

Think about a Clark , Lynch , Watts combo. Throw in a maruading midfielder calle Howe. My how fortunes could change.

Lynch knows how to work off the #1 forward , how to drag a back to where they re non efffetive. He knows how to get a ball and create paths.

Not the missing link... but a complementary lynch perhaps :)

I'd love him in our side. He's a competent big forward to compliment Clark, and furthermore would spare Clark of undesirable ruck duties. Would be a significant upgrade on Martin. I'd be surprised and disappointed if we weren't giving it a crack.

Agreed. He cold help us enormously over the next couple of years. Great foil to Clarke, will be able to teach Watts a heap and help Jack develop as a key forward, steadily improving while playing more often than not on the oppositions 3rd defenders.

Could do worse a lot of experience and pinch hitter in the ruck and lead deep to the wing where he can kick penetrating bullets to the top of the square.

My mail is he will agree to terms with the blues by next week

but it aint over till she sings

No doubt we'd be chasing - as i've said before Neeld is very clear about the need for two power forwards (as is Malthouse and Buckley for that matter). Collingwood have Dawes and now Cloke and probably not much space in their cap. Blues would have to be favourites to get him given the Malthouse factor and the far greater chance of playing finals, which at his age is obviously going to be a big factor. The blues probably also have the cash.

Still we could probably outbid the blues and even perhaps offer him a 3 year contract? I reckon Neeld could be pretty persuasive and Lynch would get to play along side Clark. He would also get to play a bunch of games at the G

Much happiness all round if we got him. Doubt if Eagles will let him go though. He's better than Clokey IMO>

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
