He will be there next year. Get used to it. On tonight's effort, very few players can hold up their head.

Dumbest player I've seen in years. Offers absolutely nothing, can't see what the coaches and other supporters see in him.

He makes the dumbest decisions every week, and when he makes the right one the disposal is terrible.

Seriously! Why just pot Rohan Bail? Nicholson = turn over merchant, Watts = half arsed, Trengove = wasted possessions, Tapscott = one hard contest per match, Sylvia = uninfluencial, McDonald = undisciplined, Jetta = missing, MacDonald = OOF....where do you stop?

If I was a full time recruiter I could find you 50 mature aged players from state leagues around Australia that are better footballers than bail and mckenzie. There's plenty of Sam Gibson's out there and we invest years on fumbling spuds that can't kick.

Very disappointed with Bail this year, but then again he's not Robinson Crusoe. Has been given a run with defensive role that he's clearly not suited to.

Pray tell what is he suited to? He can't kick the football.

We can't afford to lose our Elite runners yet, without bolstering our list with more elite runners.

You don't stop when you're on a roll - Frawley = shadow of former self, Dunn = shirk it, Jamar = horizontal, Sellar = VFL

I love how people will whinge about Bail for being given a new role which he at times struggles with but at times does well in, because he struggles to be consistent and hasn't improved.

Sounds like almost every damn player on our list.

Bail at least has the starting credentials: speed, tank, hardness, likeness for physical contact. Puts him ahead of half the list at least. Some of his games are better than others; so be it.

Yes some games he only kicks it to the opposition 5 times

At West Coast when recruiting they have one rule - give me players that can kick and find a target. What good is having a player who can run if he cant kick and has poor decision making under pressure.

Posted

Look, Bail was a late draft pick so he's done okay to get his fitness to the required level and eek out a few games.

But his kicking has not improved and is unlikely to.

Not AFL standard. Delist.

Posted

You see him get the ball anywhere in the forward 50 and just look straight to the goals, and have a crack every time. Doesnt matter who is free in front or around him - he just wants the goal himself every time and NEVER seems to kick it. He backs himself more than Tommy Hawkins...

Posted

Not every player will be a complete package; every one has their flaws and Bail's (kicking) is probably one of the most easily fixed. Much more easy than teaching a player to be a maniac at the contest, which he is already. Definitely hang on to him before many others... plus Neeld seems to like Rohan.

Bail has elite fitness and spread. Improve his kicking and decision making he'll be fine.

Agree, You can improve kicking and decision making but will never make a bloke faster, no matter how good his kicking is. In fact change his running style and you may well change his kicking style detrimentally. I struggle to figure out how Bail, a low draft pick is viewed as such a failure when we have number one pick who plays with zero intensity or urgency and that's just the start of our problems.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
