Brent Moloney Departing MFC

Again I have not watched much of the Blus but to see Brock "best on" again on the weekend clearly highlights it can be done. Brock looks very lean and fit compared to his time (not saying he was overweight) at Dees and the 1st season at Blues. Will Beamer be allowed the same chance at Dees if so will he want to stay or will he persue his options elsewhere?

Their was one big difference Mclean had a contract at Carlton.

Moloney is out of contract.

I have no doubt that if he had a contract for 2013 there would a tenth of the talk about Moloney as there is now.

Davey is in a similar boat but almost no talk about him as he is contracted for 2013

This is the clearest indication so far of the approach we are taking. Whilst there's a part of me that will be sorry to see him go I'm happy to see that we're prepared to play hard-ball with players who can't commit to Neeld's plan. Time will tell if the plan is a good one but at least at the moment I feel like we actually have a vision.

He's looking for better opportunities, and we aren't promising them in 2013.

Fair enough.

Wonder what pick we will be slated for...

The statement doesn't look as though we are keen to hold him to a trade.

And he sure as hell didn't deserve better opportunities based on the performances he put in this year. I wonder if he would have even been offered a new contract at the Dees if he'd wanted to stay.

I'm glad that our former "leaders" are being phased out for a new group. You won't see Grimes, Trenners, Clark, Watts, Jones, Garland etc out late at night after games. They're the type of players we need to set an example for the new crop of draftees, not half-wits like Moloney.

Reported elsewhere that Neeld is holding meetings with players yesterday and this morning.

No doubt those discussions have led to the events we are seeing unfold.

I wish Moloney well he has been a fantastic player for the club who seems not to have gelled with the new regime better for all concerned to make the break.

Its obvious Neeld has a clear plan which will be make or break for him.

I hope this isnt a mistake. Brent has done a lot for this club with his passion, etc and he often showed that he had a lot of potential. I will miss the pictures of him on the herald sun painted in red and blue two days before we get smashed LOL.

But on a serious note I think he has been pushed out rather than anything else. Neeld and Moloney obviously arent on the same page.

Cant stand the heat Brent...stay out of Neelds kitchen!

Strange comment given that Brent prettymuch ran our midfield in 2010, 2011.

The fact that he was dropped for the last three rounds indicates that Neeld wants him gone. Lets thank Brent for all that he has done for the club - which is more than some give him credit for. its obvious that our future requires some big changes.

it's going to be a completely different mindset in 2013.

no 2011 best and fairest winner, no former mark of the year winner, no former skipper.

very sad state of affairs.

Sad?? Its fantastic, obviously its a player issue like everyone has known for ages and now we are finally cutting the dead wood. Im wrapped the MFC have taken a hard approach because we are the softest football club in the land. Moloney stank it up big time this year and its great he is gone, now he wont be able to poison our young brigade.

Aside from being a good player, Beamer was one of the only modern-era players I felt had the same love for the club and guernsey as we the supporters do.

Not anymore it seems

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
