Liam Jurrah off the injury list for the first time in what, three months?

By my reckoning he was on the list until May 10.

Then played 1+ quarters vs Swans May 19

Then back on May 25 and has been on it for 11 weeks.

Not exactly a great productive year.

Does that mean he fronts for Casey this weekend?

I really hope so

Watts still in the test group, this had been a very serious minor ankle injury.

I'm sure I read that McKenzie was a late replacement because of a knee complaint; yet the list has him as "shoulder (test)"?

Thought so... from the MFC site game review:

I'm sure I read that McKenzie was a late replacement because of a knee complaint; yet the list has him as "shoulder (test)"?

I always take the injury list with a grain of salt

The only ones I believe is when they Say "Season or Indefinte"

The rest is just to keep the troops happy.

What is up with Watts? I'm now officially getting worried. Four weeks is a long time. I hope it is not more serious than they are letting on.

I heard he did the ankle twice. Once was in the game, then he was pretty much right but aggravated/re-injured it in training, early word is he'll be right for this week.

I bloody hope so. At the moment he's sitting on my Super coach bench with Mitch Robinson. With an elimination final and only 3 trades i want him back!

I dont think soft as butter Jurrah will make it back before the years out.

I've been under the impression all year that MFC are sneakily trying to keep him out of the spotlight, for his own sake.

Not saying I know this as a fact, just where my instinct goes given the timing of his comeback and the length of time he's been out with seemingly minor injuries.

"Soft as butter" is the last thing I'd call him though, if you've seen his reaction to his various injuries you'd know the guy has a pretty massive pain tolerance.

Soft as butter? And I thought our problem was our inability to spread...

(And I think your assessment is way off. With all the psychological trauma he's been through over many years, I suspect he's one of the mentally toughest players on our list.)

Be interesting to know to what extent his ongoing shoulder issues over the past couple of months have effected him and his position in the team.

    Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill.     BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
