wb demonlanders.

Browsing todays post mortem and nothing has changed in Demonland. The usual bullies lambasting posts with various replies, i.e, dumb thread, stupid thread on and on. "How dare you critique the MFC?" Think you get the message.

If you think the thread is dumb why not at least attempt to comprehend why and write it down? Insteading of writing two words and hitting enter.

In the end it's all opinion to whether Spencer or even Neeld, the current Captaincy dilemma, the reason we are getting flogged each week, Critics of Sylvia, Watts, Blease and so on.

Spencer certainly did not look comfortable at that level. He resembled a Suburban Footballer playing AFL. He has not been starring with Casey and did not earn a call - up.

Dumb thread. (IWHAEIIUE)

No but seriously, you can start any thread you like, but you can probably expect the replies to run the gamut, as those replies have the same freedoms the thread starter does.

Doesn't this belong in the General Discussion forum? You already made your point in the Spencer thread, so it begs the question, why start up a new thread anyway?

On the money, a lot of people on this forum seem to get some sort of power trip from acting as faux moderators.

agreed, i got absolutely slammed this morning.

Forrest Gump would probably have the right retort for all this.

I'm definitely in favour of the sentiment of the OP. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and should feel free to express it. The Neeld thing has been done though. It's been discussed ad nauseum and frankly anyone who calls for his head after a weekend where we were decimated with injury and playing interstate, in light of the obvious improvements that have been made recently, deserves the responses they get. I say that as a bit of a Neeld skeptic in the first few weeks as well.

no you were slammed for being johnny come late ( by about) 9 months to a subject that had little relevance to the current siuation and thrrefore timeframe. But you have every right to voice it. As do we.

I'll sit on the fence for this one.

If someone feels that making a "X-player should never be picked again thread" is a good idea, well i dont agree,. It is overly negative and is not a topic that will generate decent discussion. In this instance i dont have a problem with the dumb thread posts etc.

On the other hand, if there is a genuine discussion taking place and someone has a differing veiw to the 'norm' (read faux moderators) then i do feel that the usual suspects are pretty quick to jump in, state their opinion as gospel and smother the differing opinion.

At the end of the day though, if you dont like it, leave!

I do agree that the 'Please Never Pick Jake Spencer Again' thread is probably poorly titled and a bit demeaning. But there is definitely a space to have a reasoned discussion on a player's development.

The issue I have is that some of the posters base their opinion on something they have heard/seen/read....an example being a poster said that Spence had not been playing well at Casey, an opinion based on what?...he was in the best 6 two weeks ago.

Other posters on here will know it is one of my pet hates,

I am all for people expressing an opinion but you need to back it up if you are asked why...if you try that with some posters on here all you get back is either derogatory remarks or personal abuse because you have dared to ask them to back up an opinion

Maybe. but even still, Spencer did his knee last year, was picked due to a glut of injuries, not based on form. Dont hate the player for havign a crack becasue he was the only fit ruckmen left to choose fom.. I dont see a "never pick James Strauss ever again" thread - he cant make an impact at casey. yes he broke his leg, but Spencer's knee was similarly serious.

Anyway, a month ago the harsh thread titles were directed at Sylvia. After the last two games there i dont see the 'leave this club colin syliva' threads anymore. I dont think there should ever be a thread started purley to pay out on one of our players, form comes and goes, and as frustrating as they may be, i think all of our players try their best.

ok, but to be fair it was news to me. if i had missed it, a little "hey, we did know about that but thanks for the heads up" would have sufficed.

I don't get involved with rudeness and never respond with any derogatory remarks - I love to talk footy.

I thought you were unnecessarily savaged this morning by some ordinary comments.

I sent you a PM explaining the reaction.

It's not an excuse for people to jump down your throat, but forums are a tough game for many reasons - one of the major ones is tone and context.

People thought you were flaming Land into a patented eating of our own.

So we decided to eat you instead...

thank you jumbo returns. i thought the topic may have been of interst to some but clearly not. I must admit i was a little taken aback by some fairly full on responses.

thank you also. eating our own is not my game. at the gws game someone yelled out for the ball not to be passed to jones because of a poor disposal belief. i told him to pull his head in. for those that dont know me im the one you will see wearing the badges of watts and morton out of support.

if my post was taken in a different manner then i apologize.

I don't get how you worry about being being "slammed" on a discussion site. You say something and others can agree, disagree or not care. They maybe vehement or very ugly. I don't understand how anyone could seriously worry. It's an anonymous site FFS.

If you want to start a thread, go ahead. No one's going to stop you.

But if you start a thread that is silly, or your opinion is just foolhardy, then expect people to note that.

So if someone starts a thread saying 'We should delist Clark, he's been our worst player all year', then that person would expect to cop more than a few 'dumb thread' comments.

It's a forum. For the same reasons that you should expect to be able to say what you want (and you can), expect to have people say what they want about your opinion.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
