Changes v Richmond

Bate will play his 100th this weekend if he's named. Out of 9 games this season he's really only played well against the Dogs and the Giants.

Might find himself with the green vest this weekend.

McQueen I was at the Brisbane game IMO he was far from our worst.

Phew... Tough week to call, many injuries, poor form in both AFL and VFL... But for mine, I think it's time for some chances to be extended.

So in saying that, here's a stab at it on a week where anything could happen (guessing with injuries):

OUT:

McDonald (inj), Spencer, Dunn, Moloney.... Roughie OUT: Bail (Reckon he'll get another week to find form)

IN:

Jamar, Jones, Couch, Gysberts (sub)... Roughie IN: Cook (Would rather him come in when either Clark or at least Green are around as 1st option)

I have a sneaking suspicion that with a big win against GWS followed by an interstate game, Jamar and Jones may have been rested for the higher attention game this week and will be straight back in.

Actually wouldn't be surprised to see Davis come in for McDonald.

Moloney stays. Gysberts worth a try. Cook needs a bag before inclusion..at least one bag of 4 or 5. Rather have Petterd(before Couchy) in at this stage.

Connors sacked, dustin martin suspended (season the rumour) they mustve played up majorly!!

thats about 6 outs this week for richmond, ripe for the picking

Since you posted this an hour ago and there is still no official announcement, then I would suggest you really have no idea... it may well turn out that this is the outcome, but please don't present speculation as fact.

And please don't say they are "ripe for the picking"... every time we become complacent because the opposition is under strength, we get hammered.

Hi Hardtack I think that has more to do with how good ( used the word loosely ) the Dees are then any thing to do with the opposition

Says lots about us that we as supporters keep hoping things go wrong with the other team that might improve our chances.

Sad really what it says about the Dees quality

Old, your thoughts on starting Jamar at FF, Cook CHF, Martin Ruck this week against a lacking Richmond backline and Ivan?

i for one dont mind the idea of Jamar starting in the square and coming into the game in bursts. Eases him back in a fashion.

I think hes not as bad as some seem to think in the marking dept . some have forgotten a day out against the cats some years back.

He'll make a reasonable target and poor mans ff for now, changing with Martin .

very easy to forget a one day-out, less easy to ignore consistency eh?

the point was Jamar is off seen by some as unable about the shoulders when in fact hes an ok mark and capable goal kicker. Never a 1st choice for the square but a handy fill in of sorts .

We HAVE to improvise

agree he can be an ok mark, but disagree he is a capable goal kicker. as i said very easy to forget a one-off because that is all it was

HB: Watts, Sellar, Strauss

C: Moloney, McKenzie, Trengove

How many players have kicked 5 goals in a game for us since The Russian did it vs the Blues at Etihad that day? Not many I'd suggest. If Carlton can persist with pretending Hampson and/or Kreuzer are forwards then surely its worth us trying out for at least a couple of quarters again. I quite like the way Martin throws himself at everything when playing in the ruck, he didnt do too badly on Sunday considering he hasnt played much this year.

I don't mind if the russian has extended rests in the forward pocket. i just don't expect him to kick a bag

I don't think martin is much of a ruckman either. not bad but not good. he probably is capable of picking up more possessions around the ground though than jamar has this year

YMMV

C: Moloney, McKenzie, Trengove

HF: Howe, Martin, Sylvia

FF: Green, Dunn, Davey

FOLL: Jamar, Grimes, Jones

INT: Blease, Magener, MacDonald,

Sub Tapscott

I'd prefer Dunn and Martin in the forward line to begin the game, than Rivers and Garland. Green and Davey will help with our goal scoring problems and Sylvia usually likes to get a few against the tigers.

Amazing with the little bit of luck we could have this game. Richmond have so many outs , a fully fit dees could really have a crack this week, but no clark tmac and still unsure over Jones and Jamar and its not looking good

I hope we put Frawley to Riewoldt, hes killed him before and i hope we dont tinker with Watts or anything else stupid

Saying that:

out spencer tmac In Jamar and anyone and hopefulyl Jones and Davey are back

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
