Well done Melbourne, I forgot how good a feeling it is having a big win.

We had the whole team having having a fairdinkum dig.

When you see them sing the song, you can see they are united real raw emotions.

The MONKEYS off the back now , let's go for it.

I am so proud of the guts and determination the whole team displayed tonight. I have seen us win quite a few premierships and this felt like one tonight! I wonder how many of us were thinking with a minute to go that Essendon would kick a point then a goal to beat us by a lousy point. Remember Neale Daniher's last match?

funnily enough bobby tonight was the first time in a long time where i had confidence we would keep the lead.. we just seemed to be controlling the stoppages and dictating ball movement, or the stifling thereof..

was still bloody relieved - and ecstatic - when the siren went

what a win! best since swannies in late 2010 by a country mile

Wanted the kids to stay up and watch with me ,

She who must be obeyed overruled me.

With the fear of making them watch a last gasp defeat I didn't argue.

They'll have to refer the video tape.

Go Demons !

So incredibly happy with that effort tonight, can't stop smiling! I was dancing and singing the song like a madman, even through the carpark. Dragged my parents along (we go to all the home games but they were trying to get out of this one) by the end we were all going nuts! What an incredibly gutsy performance by the whole team.

The best thing is there is still so much improvement in this team and with the confidence from this game you would hope that they will be this dogged, determined and at times bloody brilliant as they were tonight. Man, Jack Watts, Jack Grimes, Jack Trengove all had great games! After all the flack of the past nine weeks I hope every player, coach is as proud of the team as I am and that we can bottle the feeling and keep it going for the rest of the season!

Absolutely stocked. So happy.

But I want to see all Demonlanders stick fat. Whilst Neeld is without doubt the future, it is likely we may have a few more disappointing losses this year - and that doesn't mean we're heading in the wrong direction, just that we're developing.

Love Mr Neeld though. He will win us a flag. Best thing that happened to this club in centuries (ie, even before the game was invented).

Makes being there week in, week out all worth it. What an awesome night!

Great point and I said it to a few people tonight. That's why you go every week!

Just finished watching the replay screaming at the screen. I cant believe it but I have been to every frigging game except for tonight . Had to go to a wedding secretly happy that I didn't have to go through another agonising game. I went and sat in the toilet listening to the radio then had to excuse myself and sit in the car to listen to the last quarter. What a win. The absolute determination which has been missing for so long. Everyone was throwing themselves at the ball and the man. They found space and run and carry. I loved Beamers new found attitude and his emotional reaction to our goals. Of course the reaction of the whole team at the siren. This is a group of men playing for each other, their coach and their Club. God, I wish I had been there. Otherwise the wedding was nice.

Can't describe how this feels as a supporter who has been there at every game through the dark days of the last 4 years (inc 186). Somehow one great win can make up for many shattering losses. Was so proud of the way we played tonight- our tackling and pressure was ferocious and it was the first time in quite a while that we really played for each other. Absolutely stoked for neeldy he well and truly deserves this. Hope that we can all go out and enjoy the rest of the weekend and celebrate a great win for our club that will hopefully be the turning point for our club! GO DEES!!

It is great feeling reading what it means to us all being a Melbourne supporter, its days like today that make it worth while.

Neeld is turning this ship around and i love it, Go dees, i had the chance to take 4-1 on slabs but ended up just going 1 on the line....could have been even better

My sister-in-law says horse riding is better than sex but neither I nor anyone in my immediate family can sagaciously comment as even though we live on six acres we do not have any horses

sounds like she has put the saddle on backwards then :o

Woke up so bloody happy this morning. Honestly I didn't want to go last night but a elderly friend of mine is a bombers fan so i drove her in. Good God i'm glad I went and did I give it to all the bombers fans who were doing the old Hurley is better then Watts crap before the game. Seriously I was nearly tearing up after the game it was bloody tense at the G and the best feeling was walking out of the G 3 or 4 blokes were standing on some seats when everyone is walking out of gate 5 and they were blasting "It's a grand old flag" at the top of their lungs. Kick ass night.

I watched the game with another tragic Dee's supporter and a few other mates. Was so tense in the last quarter I almost couldn't watch it. But what a euphoric feeling it was.

I could have coped with a close loss and a four quarter effort, but I'll take the win. Bloody brilliant.

Well done Dees!

Winning feels good - very good. The pressure valve has been released and I can relax a bit when i watch the footy. Sex in the morning, gardening before lunch, a kick of the footy with my boys at about 2pm, KFC for tea and then the Dees win. I will sleep tonight.

Even my wife said that sounded like the perfect day!!

Fantastic!

Best part was seeing a lot of loyal Demon supporters screaming when the siren went!

Awesome night well done!

Absolutely - one of the best moments I have had as a supporter following this club.

The lady in front of me turned around and hugged me, high 5s from supporters next to me.

Then my better half and I headed to the bullring bar in the depths of the MCC members and joined the whole bar jumping up and down singing the song non stop!

What an amazing night!!!!!

brilliant game. such a relief.

loved the effort put in by the players at every contest. they were gang tackeling at every contest by the last quarter, everyone put in 110%. now the boys know how much effort it takes to win a game, perfect timing to learn that with queens birthday next week.

It's a grand old flag

Simply cannot agree more RB. We will have ups and downs, its important we all keep perspective but gee im going to enjoy this week!

For some reason I thought we were due last night. Then upon hearing Neeld’s interview on Triple M before the game I really believed we would win. He was so relaxed and confident – totally different to any other time I have heard him. Sitting in the members and starting the celebration with 7 seconds to go was fantastic.

I had to admit though, when I got back to the car I was back to thinking its only one win and now I want to see another next week. One win does not make up for the previous nine games.

what a great night!!

we beat the bombers, who took us for granted last night and have paid a price for that and i hope it costs them a top 4 spot

to make the night even better the blues got belted by port!!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
