I cant believe that he gets a potential "second chance" after allready having 3 strikes (chances).

If we're happy to consider him, knowing that he was/is a recrational drung user, then why not give Fev a chance too?

I totally support your thoughts..GIVE FEV A GO ! --- If not we will regret it.

We got Clark, JCB.

Let it go.

If it was a long shot before we got Clark, it is an even longer one now.

I'll never let it go - we will be STUPID if we don't get him. Just look at what Tim Mohr had to say - he is stating that GWS should take him and says he owes his recruitment to Fev - GWS recruit Tim Mohr credits Brendan Fevola.

We won't be stupid if we don't take him...

Frankly, I don't think our senior players can keep him in check, and I don't think he is a distraction that Neeld needs right now.

Fev would give us a couple of years of good service but be gone by the time we're the real deal.

I think Freo/Sydney/Bulldogs etc are the teams most crying out for a full forward to come in and play a good few seasons for them over the next year or two?

I agree. Now we have Clark as the mature tall forward, we need spots to give to kids to get games into them.

Also IMO, we will want to get the game systems and structures in place this year,,,, Ahead of games Won ! I see us finishing about 10Th in 2012. This by the way, also helps our floating Comp pick.

It would suit us to get games into Davis, TMcDonald, Cook, Fitzpatrick etc, as they demand them with solid Form.

We also need to get more games into Gysberts, Blease, Tapscott, Bail, Jetta, Gawn, Howe...

This coming year is to be, to me a consolidating year where i think we'll start to see the formation of a real goal to goal line and change in our defence & midfield, & the forwardline Obviously. So the more i look at it the more I see a changing Year ahead with Good long term structures being put in place.

SO, back into topic,,, I'd like to see us Rookie Tucky, but Fev will have to Now go elsewhere.

We need to add class into our midfield and we don't have the luxury of an early draft pick. By having him down at the club for a few weeks we have the chance to decide whether we want him and can fit him on our list.

Tuck's career to date hasn't been all that flash but it sounds as if he's highly motivated to succeed. I'm happy to see him getting an opportunity.

I agree WJ if the guy had "real ability" would the Hawks have let him go?

I fear the answer is "No".

They do not give much away at Hawthorn.

That is enough for me, not for the Dees

... excepting though that the Hawks already have a top-line midfield, so to them it is different

Just for the record I have nfi on Tuck's suitability or talent, just commenting re Hawthorn.

Kennedy and McGlynn at the Swans say hi: both similar types to Tuck.

I agree though they dont give anything away generally.

Kennedy and McGlynn were different though - they just couldn't afford to match the offers that Sydney were making in terms of $$$. Heard Dunstall say hundreds of times that they really wanted to keep them both.

Still, the Hawks might have a "Culture of team > Ability of one player" type of policy in place, so they wanted Tuck out whilst he had issues. Who knows.

Thought the Clark deal killed all this Fev rubbish off once and for all. Call me when he makes a meaningful contribution anywhere. Including to society.

His wife was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

Does that count as meaningful?

Can someone please provide some proof that Tuck is actually training with us?

No, because he isn't. Read the thread.

Perhaps you need to read the thread! The person who opened the the thread clearly said he was going to be training with us...........

Tuck not being on a Permission To Train list at this stage is relatively meaningless.

He was never anything but a rookie prospect in any case.

Plenty of time for him.

I hope we get Tuck, the kid can seriously play and I believe he is exactly what we need.

He'd be better than Macdonald - plus his age fits the bill better.

Tuck not only has the bloodlines to play - but the bloodlines that get better with age and longevity.

His form at Hawthorn was solid.

In years gone by we've wasted time with spuds like Newton, so we couldnt go too wrong giving a kid like Tuck a chance - who is proven in a better side and theres reasons his form dropped.

Caroline Wilson explains why the football world has written off the AFL careers of Andrew Lovett and Brendan Fevola in this compelling article - Final drinks called at the last-chance saloon

The clubs are all saying they've had enough of errant behaviour from footballers. "Lovett and Fevola have already had their second chances and blown them".

That's all well but what of Travis Tuck?

When this thread was started in late October it was thought that he would train with us during November "in the hunt for a chance to join the MFC list" after finishing 4th in the voting for the Liston Medal.

But nothing eventuated and it seems that Tuck won't even get his second chance.

Just for argument's sake, didn't he already have a second and a third chance?

If you look at it in that sense, yes, he has but it was all a part of the same period of Tuck's life. If we accept that after losing his place on Hawthorn's list, he knuckled down and rehabilitated himself, now is the time for that second chance.

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
