Melbourne players in Grand final revue

Let's face it, the entire club lost it's dignity on or about 30 July 2011. A great deal of what's happened since then has been about restoring it's dignity. We've reconstructed our football department, re-signed the players we wanted to keep, had the dark shadow of the Tom Scully saga removed off our shoulders and are now looking forward to the trades, drafting and what promises to be an interesting and exciting pre season in which our promising young list can start catching up to the competition's elites under the most expert guidance available. Why can't our players perform on a public stage acting and looking like knobs just like the players from every other club? It's absolutely therapeutic and good on them as long as I don't have to watch it!

Actually I thought ours wasnt ot bad. Jack started well and big Maxy had a grin on his face and I think he enjoyed it. Im just glad he didnt trip over.

David Rodan is just awesome. For a guy who has had knee re constructions and lars his knees must still be pretty good.

I agree with the stkilda one. They didnt do anything except Sam Fisher watching a girl pole dance. Is that why they did the skit just so they can get a girl pole dancing.

Too true and by gee they are in for a HUGE pre season after the end of October and by gee they do not want to have been eating the likes of turtle in the meantime. There is a time and place and last night., I thought it was great to see 5 young players bonding together having FUN.You never know Neil & Dave may bring in some dancing for pre season. However doubtful. Maybe in high altitude next year. I hear that Neeld is very eager to go down that track.

I'm aware - it's my son's favourite movie, so I've watched it approximately a gazillion times (conservative estimate).

Great film!

I was mighty impressed with Jack Trengove's confidence and moves, and that is the only comment I'm going to make!

I've never understood why people find watching footy players dance while they mime to songs almost naked good television. For those that enjoyed it, what’s the appeal?

The "player reviews" are cringe worthy. I don't see what the appeal is to anyone without mild brain damage.

Trengove rocked though. I had a dream about it last night.

Watts lost me a bit.

Hmm

When Billy Brownless of all people tells you you might need to put some socks down the frontal region your probably not packing much "firepower"

i haven't been over to Bigfooty for a while but I would assume Bay13 would be having a field day!

I liked it, and I do every year. I guess the appeal is just watching the players have a bit of fun.

But then again, I can see why a female would look at it more differently than a male.. My boyfriend didn't enjoy it at all.

I wonder how old that pole dancer was? Hmmmm.

As for a comment on the boys' performance, I'm glad they had dancing lessons! And it took a lot of nerve for JT to start it all off. But probably not as much nerve as it took for Wattsy to put on that costume!

Skin-coloured spandex, nerd glasses, black wigs and American flags have always been a winning combination in my book. Sorry you don't agree.

I thought it was a bit of harmless fun for the boys, and it is good to see them let their hair down a bit. JT is usually very professional and reserved, so it was great to see that they aren't like that boring little moneygrubber that shot off recently, and can actually be kids and have some fun.

I don't really care about the quality of the performance. The important thing was that four of our young stars got out there in a very public bonding exercise and showed that they are both a team and a great group of friends. Once again our young brigade are showing themselves to be very media savvy and aware of the image they project and how it impacts on the perception of our club. I don't think there could have been a better way to show that the Scully defection hasn't broken the cohesion of our playing group.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
