6 - Rivers. Started poorly but was great at taking defensive marks on whoever was the target. Should never be allowed to be isolated, and we should focus our entire game around having him playing loose.

5 - Moloney. Excellent clearance work. Easily our best player, when it comes to taking advantage of one of our only real strengths - our ruck division.

4 - Jurrah. Hopefully showed himself what he's capable of WHEN HE TRIES. He's not God, and I hope he realises that.

3- Jamar. Could have absolutely broken the game open if he'd kicked at goal accurately. Around the ground and in the ruck, there's very few better than him in the entire AFL.

2 - Jones. Answered his critics in the third quarter, but one good quarter out of 12 is not enough.

1 - Martin. Has finally adapted to the spot we need him to play in. the Jamar-Martin combo is going to be very good in the coming years. I wonder what we'll do when Max Gawn comes on.

6 - Jurrah: Gives new meaning to the term "match winner".

5 - Moloney: has been a colossus in the midfield so far this year.

4 - Rivers: Awesome. Probably the best game i've seen from him in 6-7 years.

3 - Jamar: Strong presence around the ground. Needs to convert his chances around goal.

2 - Gysberts: Has a touch of the Pendlebury's about him (but long way before he gets half that good!!!)

1 - Jones: showed what he was capable of.

Apologies to Big Stefan Martin who has been a revelation.

- points to Davey and Green who have to do a lot more as supposed leaders. Tough on Green I know but he needs to lift.

Ugly win today but we walked away with 4 points more than I expected at quarter time!

6 - Moloney (did what was needed)

5 - Bail (tagged, won the ball in tight, and used it well)

4 - Rivers (strong, and Frawley was much better as well)

3 - Jurrah (goals!)

2 - Jones (alot of crap mixed in but good work rate and became important)

1 - Wona (just his smartness as a football is worth its weight in gold, he knows where to lead and brings others into the game. 1.3 wasn't a great return but I really like what he brought to the team)

Unlucky - Gysberts, Jamar, Martin, Frawley

Sub should have been Wona. Morton was a horrible decision to be the Sub. He is an accumulator of the ball and needs to play most of the day to have an impact where as Wona is the opposite. Can't run out a full game and has little impact late in the game.

4. Moloney - Was sensational in the middle.

3. Jones - Huge second half

2. Martin - Really stood up when we needed him to.

1. Gysberts - Was always involved at stoppages.

4. Jurrah - match winner

3. Jamar - controlled the game

1. Gysberts - we waited a while and he didn't disappoint. Great stoppage player.

Apologies to Martin (who is improving every week), and Jones (whose attack on the footy was outstanding as was his game bar for him still making some poor decisions, i.e. that missed opportunity to setup a transition goal with dumb kicking inside 50 instead of drawing the player and then kicking to Jurrah's advantage, as well as that dropped mark in the last)

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
