"It is understood Bruce was happy enough with a one-year commitment, even though the Demons were offering slightly less than what he wanted.

But he also wanted assurances and positivity about his own place as the club embarks on a determined youth drive."

Soft as they come.

Hey Fanta pants, did you expect us to guarantee you a start regardless of how bad your disposal was?

I'm extremely surprised, but I guess I shouldn't be.

Don't know whether I'd be wishing him all the best or tell him to jam it up his arse, as I'm feeling a touch of both. Instead I'll just say nothing and recognise that it's probably a good enough outcome for both parties.

The most disappointing thing, as RobbieF has already said, is that we'll get nothing in return, however I feel that if the club thought that was a problem they'd have been more accommodating in their negotiations*.

* Yes, I realise I don't actually know how accommodating or otherwise the club was in this.

I read that with interest as well too.

Every single player must always work hard for their position in the team, regardless of who they are. Thus the well known sentence "You are only as good as your last game"

Did Cameron really feel he was above these Team Rules?? If so i wish he had gone earlier, cause that attitude will never win flags. It merely fills Bank Accounts.

Not overly disappointed he`s going, but really jacked off he has spat in the face of MFC and given us nought after being apparently our highest paid player for a number of years.

He will receive the loudest boos you`ve ever heard an opposition player receive when we play against him.

Beast thing I have read regarding Bruce's leaving.

Dead true and you'll bet Collingwood's bottom dollars that he will be booed out of the stadium.

I'm extremely [censored] off to be honest.

I know for a fact that his decision has a lot to do with the way he saw McDonald being treated. He wanted two years, and we wanted one. If we were a club that backed its players, like Hawthorn with Crawf, then he would probably have had faith that we would look after him the way players look after club. Hawks gave Crawf one, he wanted two.... the difference being they let him decide when to retire (within reason). Everyone knows that McDonald wanted one more, and everyone knows that the former captain has more of a role to play than Michael "oxygen thief" Newton. But we farked him off anyway. Once Cameron saw the way we were willing to retire our captain, who is easily up with the most selfless blokes to wear the red and blue, who can blame him?

Soft mind, body and spirit. Always said he wasn't and isn't a leaders exit hole.

This made me chuckle heartily.

As I said on 'ology. We can look forward to him hitting Demons players more regularly in the future.

What a dog of an act, thought more of the money hungry grub and won't miss him haven't rated him since he did his shoulder and lost his balls.

love it, no sleep lost, its all coming together nicely

Gee, disappointing it's happened this way. Junior now Bruce, I'm not entirely sure what to make of all that from a club perspective.

From an on field perspective we will be fine. Players like Bennell to step up, he is a player that I see could play off half back and Davey, Green, Sylvia to step up as leaders.

It seems the young guys take a fair bit from Jones & Moloney. Even though I am still undecided on both it is a big opportunity for them both to really step up their on field effectiveness, consistently. Their preparation for each week seems to be second to none and a fine example.

To Cam Bruce, mixed memories no doubt but plenty of fond one's amongst them. He is capable of 2 more years of football and I hope he kicks himself if we can salute as early as 2012.

All the best Brucey. (There will be zero love if he ends up at Ess, Carl or Hawthorn)

How quickly before he is removed from above here on D'land?

LOL at BBP. Cameron Bruce wasn't helping us win critical games in August five years ago. Why would we expect him to do it now with a team of lawyers and a wallet as fat a George Costanza's weighing him down?

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res
