Chip Frawley

I personally think he will remain in the RED & BLUE for his entire career.

He knocked back some big $$ from GC (assuming big $$) to stay with the MFC, imo, he and a few others will stay RED & BLUE forever.

Wouldn't have a clue if this rumour is true or not.

I don't wish to question it, but I can't help think that something like this would be a good move by the Mfc. GC & GWS are circling and other players of other clubs such as Cooney, Selwood, Cotchin, et al have signed of late. They have been mentioned or reported to be on GC's shopping list - as has Frawley.

Davey signed a 4 year deal. Perhaps a front ended 4 year deal with Frawley who is breaking out as a star of the AFL at present after 40 odd games is a good move list management wise for the Mfc ?

Fingers crossed it's true. Frawley will be the dominant defender in the comp over the next decade and I want to see him in red and blue!

If it's true it is a brilliant move by the club.

Other gun players re-signing has started a domino effect.

It might be appealing to go to GC17 for a heap of cash to play with Ablett, Cooney, Cotchin and a stockpile of freakishly talented kids.

It is not so appealing to be the one player to leave his club for money when so many are choosing not to, effectively becoming the posterboy for greed and having to babysit a team of talented kids on your own.

Frawley will stay with us.

Cooney and Cotchin have resigned. Maybe they didn't want to be that player to walk out on his club for a wad of cash.

I know.

Just throwing their names out there because they were touted as targets and they are examples of players that would have made it an appealing option.

Now not so much.

You could now end up being one of their gun recruits along with Brad Ebert, Kepler Bradley and Ryan Houlihan.

(not so appealing)

Melbourne football club announce dees sign James Frawley for four years. Which is good news mean GC or GWS can't sign him to their clubs. It's great to see young players commiting to our club. Specially players like frawley.

That's gonna be hard to top as news of the day.

Great news. Well done Chip!

Now for the remaining boys to follow suit.

Just read the article and wanted to add that I'm madly in love with the MFC. That is all.

That's gonna be hard to top as news of the day.

News of the year!

With GWS having 2 years at uncontracted players that means everyone whose contract expires prior to and including the end of 2012 is available - that's EVERYONE on our list except Davey and now Frawley.

It would be a major achievement to not lose a player in this process, but some are more important than others and Chip is in my highest group.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
