Any idea how young Jack goes in the wet?

I'm excited to see how he goes in the humidity when the pill is like a bar of soap.

I reckon he'll go out and handle it like he's in the prison showers.

IIRC it was wet (or wet-ish) in the Brisbane game last year? And QBW as well.

I reckon he'll be OK.

Explanation please: I'm not cultured enough to speak French.

Either this is humourous, or somewhat ironic as it's Latin, not French.

It means melbourne and watts are best

parlez vous francais?

Yeah, I knew it was Latin but unfortunately not one of my strong points.

The extent of my Latin is "carpe diem", "caveat emptor", "et tu Jcb"

and "ad infinitum" (in reference to Miller dropping marks).

out of interest, for those who do know Latin, would "carpe nox" be correct for "seize the night"?

Ive been unable to get a definite translation.

Playing with dictionaries I've come across nox, notcum among others

OK Reims I'll spell it out for you - posting to say there are too many posts relates directly the first defintion of irony as previously posted. Oh but that's right, your argument is somehow above the most accepted source of defintion for terms of the english language, being the dictionary.

And you gh obviously have no understanding of poetic licence...

And I reiterate, nor does Alanis Morrisette LOL

Well AD, if you are going to survive this thread, I hope you know where your towel is ;) Thanks for all the fish.

Why do you have a picture of the Carlton coach as your avatar ?

Oh boy. Now you are going to make e look like some kind of 'elitist who uses language as a weapon' to paraphrase a previous topic. Which I'm not in this case, irony is an extremely 'tricky' (pun intended) thing. People make mistakes with it on a daily basis including myself. Just ask my brother who delights in pointing out my foibles.

But correct me if i'm wrong Arthur Dent, I'm fairly certain he intended his post to have the meaning his words expressed. "Haven't we all said enough already?" It's a subtle thing I know but also not ironic

A comment doesn't need to be intentionally ironic to be ironic.

108 points for anyone who knows what Ab Aeterno means.

FROM THE ETERNAL

I bet I know more Latin than Jack Watts...but then again, unfortunately I learn Latin D:

Did he touch the ball in the last quarter? I only had radio and I don't think I heard his name mentioned once. Not that I would blame him in those conditions given that he still lacks a little fitness. Still, he seems to have had a hell of a game. Two goals and a bunch of assists.

Considering Melksham got one for 14 possessions he should bolt one in.

But you can bet that Watts will never get a nomination for anything less than a 6 goal, 29 marks and 4 goal assists performance.

If Naitanui farts tomorrow he'll get another nomination though.

The ball was barely in our forwardline in the last quarter.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
