Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

I spoke to my source again this morning. Just to clarify what was said.

The most important part i took from it.

My source was told by a club official at the Best & Fairest count this year that the MFC want Clark OUT...This was guaranteed to me again this morning.

He has been kept on the list for trade purposes.

Would also explain why he was a no show at the B & F

Just to clarify - what you're really doing is completely walking away from the unfounded rumour you spread last night...

Who is Mitch Clark to dictate who we trade him to? The same guy that our club played millions of dollars to play a handful of games? We owe him ABSOLUTELY nothing. If we get screwed trying to make a deal with Geelong, I'll spew up. I would prefer to see him walk into the PSD than go to Geelong for a late 3rd round pick. MFC's only duty of care here is to do the best thing by the club.

Stay calm mate the fat lady has not sung yet.

Have faith that our current management will do the best deal.

The silence from all and sundy at the MFC is a very good sign I think

However you spin it Clarks attitude and behaviour has been despicable and you can't help but wish that this deal doesn't work for him. Then the penny might drop that it doesn't pay to crap on people that support you.

I really hope all this comes back to bight him on the bum big time.

It will be really interesting to see what pans out with Geelong on this one.

The Cats used to be the leaders in recruiting but in recent times have been way off the mark.

I remember them spruiking about how good Smedts was and how lucky they were to get him at pick 15, but while he has skill, he doesn't have pace or toughness so shapes as a major bust for them - something we are used to.

The Cats have already delisted five and I doubt they will offer much in return and certainly not a regular or their first pick, but our aim should be to get their second round pick at very least so that we can offload it to Pies for Lumumba.

If days like today don't make you hate being a Melbourne supporter, nothing will.

It's just beyond belief how we consistently get screwed, by the AFL and players alike.

Whats changed today Jaded?

MC has just nominated Geelong now the negotation begins.

Take your mind back a few months, He had retired from AFL football and all we had for our troubles was a spot on the list.

Keep your powder dry the process has just started.

I couldn't be less emotional about this. he's just a business transaction, a commodity.

his myriad of issues aren't worth the effort. Make no mistake, he may have walked. But there's a size 10 boot mark on his arse

Won't happen. Did you see how he played in that final this year? Starting to find form. Grandfather is also a champion of the club. Won't happen.

Just don't see how he will ever get a game in their lineup with Hawkins / Clark and potentially Vardy in their forward line.

Ha ha.... He wants to get over Depression by moving to Geelong! If you look up depression in the dictionary there is a nice picture of Geelong's Main Street.

So, whatever led to this, I shed any care about mC like a lizard sheds its skin. Get the best deal, MFC, and be done with this pus bag.

It's more about the strong getting stronger, and the weak getting weaker

Whether we wanted him out or not, the point remains that our highest paid recruit has gone and done something to warrant being given the boot, reduced his value significantly in the process, and is now calling the shots.

It makes my blood boil.

Poor old Beams wants to go home to be with his sick dad and look how Collingwood are behaving. Imagine if Clark did this to Collingwood.

I'm just sick of always getting screwed.

I hope for your sake that we do get pick 3 for Frawley and not a Band 2 pick...

(I have never been as confident about this as the majority)

Clark is a big risk though. While his foot seems fine and he has been working towards a return, there are guarantees he will be even close to the player he was. Those hamstrings and calves of his have taken a battering.

I am beginning to see this as a positive though, as it's clear Clark has a wide variety of problems to work through and he can do so away from us. We need those committed to the cause and the long haul, and he isn't one of those.

Poor comment.

I've lived in Geelong for almost all my life and it's a great place to live.

My conundrum with this whole thing is the emotional versus the logical.

I try with everything I have to keep footy logical as it is a business - players with limited lifespans going to clubs for more money/opportunity/success and not giving a rats about the club and clubs cutting players or trading them without a seconds thought - logic dictates that you don't get too emotionally invested in a player.I don't subscribe to the "bleeding red and blue" theory.

With nearly all players I succeed in this and as such I think I can dispassionately analyse what is going on ( with varied success).

Even though we "bought ($$ Ka-ching)" Clark to the club he demonstrated a passion that was absent from nearly all our players. He played every game with a reckless kamikaze style. He wore his heart on his sleeve crying re Stynes.

It made it difficult not to get emotionally invested in him and we saw more outpouring of emotion when he was diagnosed with depression.

Like Choke suggested - this just hasn't turned out how I would have liked irrespective of what we get for him and just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
