  1. Well, at least he’s making an effort to be part of the club. Can’t begrudge him that.

  2. We need to bury the hatchet and move on now, otherwise 2025 will amount to nothing. It's good Trac is there.

  3. The entitlement from some of them is ridiculous. Stop hassling them and just leave them be. Bernie Vince is all round of the most genuine blokes you could ever meet.

  5. You can understand the frustration of supporters whose club has the worst facilities in the AFL, with having to wait at least 10-13 years from a Club Board who said it was a major aim of theirs, without a definite announcement that a new site has been approved, let alone have the project finished. When the announcement comes, that will be great news for the club, but the frustration of the supporters is understandable. There will be time to congratulate those responsible for the new facility, when it is closer to a reality.

  6. The revisionism about James Jordon in here is hilarious.

  7. For all those praising Bontempelli's loyalty: frustrated-superstars-future-in-doubt "However, it is the understanding of Gullan that his continued faithfulness to the club that drafted him at Pick #4 in 2013 is no longer guaranteed, should cultural differences between key personnel and team success not be positively rectified. “He’s very loyal Bont obviously – he wants to be there – but this is a reality, and if things continue to go down this path, and he get to the end of this year and he still hasn’t re-signed, that is trouble". It is now the end of the season and he hasn't signed. Team success is what the uber professionals like Petracca and Bontempelli work so hard for. They want the rest of the team to lift to their standards. They want their club's to be culturally strong. If folks reckon Bontempelli isn't checking other clubs they have their heads in the sand! The media has said little about Bontempelli. Lets wait and see if he signs beyond 2025.

  9. Can you imagine being a professional footballer and having to deal with nuffie supporters craving your attention ? And then being publicly character assassinated without having the opportunity to respond ? Some of them are making this site unreadable.

  10. One thing that I’m gobsmacked about is the way some people on here make comments like this while they are completely oblivious to the process involved in the club securing a home base. That process has been extensively covered in material issued by the club and also in media articles. Essentially, the move to secure a site within the Caulfield Racetrack is a work in progress that is undergoing examination and consultation and the final decision is outside the hands of the MFC Board. To suggest that the fact that Kate Roffey has yet to deliver this option or any other within a given timeframe and is therefore somehow a failure is risible and reflects a lot of the warped thinking that’s enveloped our club over the past months. I find this very sad.

  11. Really, who cares.. The only thing that should matter is what he does on field and if it means he helps us win a final next year then no cares if a bunch of Demon Army supporters hate him. You think guys like Buddy and Dusty were liked by all their own supporters? Absolutely not. They had that air of arrogance that people didn't like, but they could back it up on the footy field which Petracca has done so.

  12. Which part of her trac hating post was positive? I don't want or need anything thanks. I just laugh how you can admit that you hate a player only to tell that same someone only a few weeks back how much you love him at the same time. It is a true definition of being socially fake to someone. The guy demanded high standards and professionalism from the club and yet he's the one getting piled on. Bizarre

  13. Meanwhile I ve heard he is embarking on one of those super duper, espionage, fitness, alien army, predator, roadrunner, cross code fitness guru camp type things and will come nack almost super human upon return!! Sounds promising🤩

  14. We have St Kildas pick 45 and Bulldogs tumbling out of finals early gives us a juicy pick 49 or 50. All prior to compensation, academy and father/son additions.

  15. Happy to hear all reasonable rumours about possible trades involving our players. Some posters have good intel and should be encouraged to share. Thanks @goodwindees

  16. This is a pretty rubbish post WCW, you complain when supporters denigrate our players due to their on field performance yet you're here denigrating one of our players due to his personality which is far worse. Like him or not Petracca is a legend of this club, playing a large hand in delivering us our first flag in a lifetime.

  20. I’m told she’s seen as a bully. In my experience of her it’s not too far from the truth (at least tries to be a forceful personality with none of the requisite charm).

  21. ...and Hawthorn have been fundraising for this for the past couple of years. What have we been doing in preparation? Nothing. Imagine how much would have been contributed by our members post Premiership toward a future base fund.

  22. The Home Base for the Melbourne Football Club at Caulfield Racecourse needs to be one of the top priorities for Steven Smith or whomever becomes the next President. This matter will also need to be brought up at the next Melbourne Demons AGM. We cannot allow the issue of the Home Base to linger on forever. Time to get it done!

  24. Good to see Trac there and smiling. People still holding serious grudges over him speak more volume on the individual itself. As @Jaded No More said, we need to be united as a club and hopefully we see a domino effect with the first step being Roffey leaving.

  25. The best news this morning is Caro has dished the dirt on Collingwood and the huge bust-up between Wright and Kelly. Not all is happy at Pie land. So good to have a story that isn't about MFC. Where are Maclure, Morris and Warner when there is a carcass to feed on? I also expect the carrion to attack Bevo & Hinkley after 2 finals floggings.

  26. Her specialist area was facilities. On that she didn’t deliver and that’s the bottom line. I think she was a good ambassador for the club. Very visible presence with the AFLW team. Got along to all the games, both men and womens. She had no idea about footy though. That’s fine if you have a specialist focus on the board but the president has to have a grasp of the fundamentals to preside. Her interview clearly demonstrated her lack of knowledge and unsuitability for the role. It’s why I think Steven smith will be perfect. He’s has very relevant presidential experience with the MCC but is also a 200 game former Dees champion. How many people are there out there with that dual skill set? I will say in terms of leadership, the way she has stepped down and selected an excellent candidate to succeed her, is leadership 101 and to her great credit.

  28. Further to this - this club is on a 5 year hiding to nothing if we can’t move past the past few months. Are we to boo him? Are we to call him out on the street? Are we to make it certain his departure through our actions? Really? Goodwin is obviously trying to salvage what’s best for the club. Can we give the space to do that or are we to take on the persona of the club to ensure any slight remains personal and any disloyalty is punished into infinitum?

  30. You are right. Petracca acted poorly and there is nothing wrong with calling him out for it. But much of it has been OTT and tbh quite undignified. The latter comment doesn't apply to you; your comments on any topic are quite fair. As an aside, I laughed at Pert's 'best culture he had seen in 40 years'. I'm sure he believed it but how would he know; his only experience was an extinct Fitzroy and Collingwood. Hardly best practice yardsticks.

  32. As inevitable as the banjo solo in the Swans' theme song is the kneejerk reaction from a number of posters whenever Jordon does anything. Equally predictable are the cries of "Why did we let him go", although it's been explained 1, 529,677 times that we wanted him to stay and offered him a new contract but that he chose to exercise his Free Agency rights and leave. Cracking final, by the way! I was hoping for a GWS win but it was an outstanding match.

  33. Except that our last strategic plan promised the commencement of construction of our home base in the MCG precinct in 2023. Not a feasibility study, not a plan - but construction. And have you seen that strategic plan for 2024 - 2027?

  37. I think their main asset last night was the pressure they applied which had many normally composed Bulldogs players including the Bont fumbling and making bad decisions. Compare and contrast to the way we played against the Bulldogs in Round 21. Had we been capable of doing the same thing in the last month or so of the home and away season, we would be playing finals this weekend.

  40. It's ironic that other clubs are interested in Oliver but seemingly no interest in Tracc (outside of the usual 'all clubs would love a player of Petracca's ability' palaver). No chance we trade Oliver IMHO.

  41. Well many on here wanted her gone so you’ve got your wish. A female premiership president is how she’ll depart. Her exit doesn’t solve our on field issues and cultural problems. All the best KR.

  42. I don't hold much hope for Green but if he is just an interim for a couple of months til Smith can take control that's fine. Wouldn't want him long term though, think he'd be way out of his depth.

  43. Agreed. Sometimes the B-graders revert back to their level. Sometimes we find out they actually are A-graders. The Hawks are flying right now, we will get a better handle on the players and the team overall next season I suspect.

  45. Dandenong Stingrays play Gippsland power today in the quarter finals at 2pm. This match will feature a bunch of current Melbourne NGA listed players in Tairon Ah-Mu, Riak Andrew and Marcus Prasad (underage) from the Dandenong Stingray. Gippsland will have Ricky Mentha running around for the Power. This will also feature potential top 5 propsect Harvey Langford and Cooper Hynes who's expected to go somewhere inside top 20.

  48. As previously mentioned, the guidelines regarding trade rumors on this website differ from those addressing more harmful and potentially libelous unsubstantiated claims. While unsubstantiated trade rumors may circulate, they are distinct from allegations about personal health, illegal activity, or other statements that could be considered defamatory. Demonland may, at times, choose to remove certain allegations, even those that may have a basis in truth, in order to protect the individuals involved. This decision is not taken lightly but reflects our commitment to maintaining a respectful and responsible community. Even if a rumor or allegation contains elements of truth, the potential harm it could cause to someone's reputation, privacy, or well-being is taken into consideration. It's important to note that the rules on Demonland have evolved and continue to remain flexible. Over the years, this platform has seen a number of posters who have proven reliable when it comes to trade news, and there are certain individuals whose information is held in higher regard by the community. However, even with credible sources, trade rumors should always be approached with caution, as circumstances can shift rapidly. Exercise your own discretion when evaluating the information shared here or on any other platform.
