Adelaide had 4 players in the All Australian side including the vice captain. They had the leading goal kicker of the year 4 players in the AFLW U22 team Starcevich was the coach of the year. Ally Anderson won the League B & F. (Or as I like to cal it, the Daisy Pearce medal) Emily Bates won the same award 6 months ago They got to play at home today and bought their their own umpires But we proved the old adage that a champion team will beat a team of champions. And we are the CHAMPION TEAM!!!16 points

I reckon it’s because this team is easy to invest in. They are so openly engaged with playing solely for the joy of the game and each other that it’s impossible not to find it meaningful. Add to that how meaningful is the rise of the women’s game in the past 7 years after 157 years of being unwanted at the highest level, and now a premiership for the ORIGINAL club - of both the men’s and women’s game, and there it is. Just great stuff!15 points

Daisy speaks…………and once more she shows how it’s done. Selfless, respectful, just all class. The media can try ignoring her MFC association all they like, but she’s no less a Demon legend than any of our one-club Premiership skippers. And obviously she’s poisoned Mick Stinear with that same class.15 points

So I know we won but did that final kick go through for a goal and shouldn't it have been included because she kicked it before the siren went?13 points

Wowee what a day! Just got the kids to sleep, they were still buzzing, as am I. What an amazing effort by our girls. I was as glum as could be at Q time, they were all over us. But we dug in with absolute resilience and determination, matching and bettering the Brions’ pressure game. An absolute slog. At the start of the last, I was a pacing nervous wreck when one of my girls said “relax, dad, we’re going to win”. I offered her top dollar for her magical crystal ball at the end! And talk about emotional reward for investment, I was a blubbering mess of tears watching Daisy make that raw post game interview! So proud of this group. And of the wider AFLW for empowering girls and women through our great game. The comp is as old as my twin girls, and as I watch both grow, I feel so grateful they have these female role models to look up to. And at the risk of being ungracious, can I just say a big ‘SUCKED IN’ to the AFL(W) hierarchy and the wider football media. Everyone had this game already won by the Brions , creating a narrative they are the unbeatable darlings and making a bloody shamozzle out of every aspect of organising this GF, putting us under every imaginable disadvantage. And we went up there and [censored] did it despite everything! Get a dog up yas! GO YOU MIGHTY DEMONS ❤️💙🏆❤️💙10 points

Far out my heart is struggling after that. Well done girls, what an incredible achievement, so proud. 2021 AFL premiers 2021 AFLW grand finalists 2022 VFL mens premiers 2022 AFLW premiers We've got quite a club at the moment. No one deserves this more than Daisy.10 points

Wow, first the Brisbane captain talks for 15 minutes as if they won the game, then the best on ground goes to the losers. Unbelievable9 points

Massive effort to give up the first two and keep them goaless after that. Dominated the last three quarters. Held their shape even when under pressure. Just an awesome effort. Also, Tyla Hanks is probably the best pure footballer in the league. Absolute jet.9 points

i still want to know what happened to the last kick just before the siren. it looked to be heading for the goals, but they cut the video of the ball before we could see anyone who was there see where the ball ended up?8 points

Well done girls on a historic first flag for the Dees AFLW team. As Daisy said men’s flag, Casey flag, VFLW preliminary final and now AFLW flag. Dees travelling ok atm.8 points

They had 5 in the 22 under 22 to our 2 as well. Tahlia Gillard didn’t even make the squad. Today, she shut Wardlaw completely out of the game.8 points

The Brisbane players got closed down. None of their stars stood up. Our players good for 3 quarters. Great coaching, placing players behind the ball in the last, out coached 'em. We were desperate for and at every contest. Loved how we kept our feet and put the body between opposition and ball. Played the game in our forward 50. The umpires turned in the last. Amused by the Lion supporters boo's. Our in and under players controlled it, with some important marks from our spine players to steady the ship. Great that we ran all day. West, Hanks, Gillard, the role players, got it done. Well done Dees.8 points

8 minutes into the game - two goals to nil. If you told me they would not kick another I would not have believed you. A combination of excellent tactics from the coach, unbelievable chasing and tackling, and skill from the girls. so proud and happy. I’m actually surprised how much this means to me after only 7 seasons7 points

First para nails it for me WCW. Blind-sided frees guesses by umps in first 1/4 had me worried about their standard. We got nothing. But.... we had Daisy ( apologies to others) 7 disposals, 6 contested. How lucky as a club to have a Gawn/Pearce leadership combo. Someone should Have told Lions skipper and the BoG player that the Dees won, not them and the skipper was clearly reading what was meant to be her victory speeeh. Weird and unclassy on their behalf. Thoroughly deserved by the Dees though.7 points

Another 15 minute speech from whoever this is… you lost…jog on…and now she drops the F bomb. Wind it up7 points

I really feel like we just had more naturally competitive footballers. It was frustrating early to watch them all crash in and not hold space, but as the game went on they wanted it more and wouldn’t let anyone get in their way. So proud of the girls. Heartbroken it wasn’t in Melbourne, but so proud.7 points

I expect it to be tight, but I’m quietly confident that Daisy will be holding up the silverware at the end of the day. The ‘Demon Spirit’ will prevail.7 points

Would be lovely if we win the flag, draft a future champion with the LJ pick and Freo finish last, handing us another 2 champions, with their F1and F 2nd picks and LJ has a quiet year in 2023. Is that too much to ask for?7 points

It’s interesting, last year at this time, Cal had us taking Blake Howes at our first pick (19), with no mention of JVR as an option.6 points
