Was so proud of my daughter, the Suns wanted a photo of May with some kids, got mine, the photographer got the kids to shout"Go Suns" for the pic, my daughter was the loudest, shouting "Go Dees"!14 points

I'm not sure if players from other clubs are publicly recognized for game milestones for their new club, but its worth noting that Cameron Pederson will play his 50th game in the red and blue this weekend! He's played 65 games overall in the AFL.12 points

Watch footage of a young Rance very poor. Darren Glass at a young age schizen. Cale Hooker again nothing to see here. Robbie Tarrant 2009 to 2014 = delist material.Ted Richards ???? Unlike others I don't,mind what glimpses I've seen in Oscar. I don't think he'sever going to be a star but I think he will develop into a very strong one on one backman10 points

I live in Torquay but am in Turkey on my annual swim trip. There's a 7 hour time difference. BTW this is where we swam yesterday (pretty nice). I feature at the 20 sec mark.7 points

Do not underestimate another 20 games under hisand Frost's belt and what a fit Gawn will do for us relieving the pressure on our defence. I think we need to be careful not to sell the farm on a kpd. A quality forward, some outside run and anotner back up ruckman (not a gun either) are what we need in the jigsaw more than anything else7 points

I must admit I am pretty bullish about anb, I think he's improved quite a lot in almost all areas of his game this year. His defensive game is strong and he's a smart player, as you said he does panic at times but I think you could say the same thing about most young players. Im not sure how good he will end up being but I'm not unhappy that he's in the team i am a bit surprised stretch isn't but I'm also very confident in what he will eventually become.6 points

Some words from Nev on the importance to him of 'Indigenous Round'. (Apologies if a re-post) http://www.aflplayers.com.au/article/players-voice-neville-jetta/ Love the idea of his suggested cross-promotion with the NRL to make it an Australian-wide celebration.6 points

More craziness from the umps. Here's a rule that is actually written down ... if a player goes into the "protected area", it's 50 (unless following within 2 m of his opponent). Now here's the joke part... The "30 seconds to take your kick" is NOT IN THE RULE BOOK. Even if we give some leeway because it's commonly understood to be something that umps are supposed to rule on ... it's still bullsh!t because nowhere is it defined when the 30 seconds starts. Is it when the ump calls mark or free kick? When the player gets on the line of the mark and takes aim? No one knows. It's not defined. So the umps stare at a blatant 50 and do nothing, and then adjudicate on something not in the rules at all. The AFL has lost control.5 points

I think Zak's value is being overrated on here because he's Nathan's brother. He shows glimpses with some run and dash, I don't think he's worth anymore than the pick he was drafted at.5 points

Jack Niall reported our interest a few days ago. Caroline Wilson reported that Zak is earning under the AFL 'median' pay which is the range of $230k to $250k. Yes, I was shocked at how low it is but she is rarely wrong with her info One thing in their favour is that the new CBA tips $2m into their salary cap next year and the Buddy contract does not have escalation clauses - his contracted annual amounts are fixed. But if Zak wants to come to Melbourne we can beat any $ Sydney offer without breaching the faith with our players or abandoning the club's mantra of not paying 'overs'. Zak really fits our 'run and carry' game style and is as tough as so would be rapt to see him in our colours.5 points

"Frees for" count: Dangerfreeld + 2 Duckwoods - 12 Other 19 Freelong players - 14 All 22 Port players - 17 The umps must surely be aware that they've been gamed. You know, that sickening feeling in your gut that you've just realised that someone's made you look like an absolute idiot and there's nothing you can do about it. What beats me is why they keep coming back for more.4 points

Franklin is playing out of his mind. Pity the rest of his side is playing a bit average (two injuries doesn't help). I don't like Sydney at all but I detest Hawthorn. I'd rather a situation in which Sydney make the finals from 0-6 and Hawthorn finish bottom 4 in a sh!t year than a year in which Hawthorn bounce back and tell everyone their list is actually good and their list management decisions were correct.3 points

Only if you're a simpleton who fails to understand that 2010 was a lifetime ago with a different list. You're effectively saying that because Trengove et al were young in 2010, Clarry and Trac should be older in 2017. It's beyond illogical. Supporters need to stop foisting their own emotional baggage from previous rebuilds on the current group - they're not responsible for the failures of the past.3 points

I got a call from them on Wed night, but they lead in with 'We're calling about the online comparison you did........'. Needless to say my response was curt, as I had not done anyone online comparisons with iSelect for anything. Told them where to go as it was right on dinnertime. Got a second call the next day, where the first thing the guy said after he announced he was from iSelect was that he got my details because I'm a Melbourne member, and the club thanks you for your support. Bloke was polite, well spoken, and not pushy at all. OK, you've got my attention. Did the dance on the phone, and turns out they will save me nearly $600 a year on my elec and gas, I'll get myself a 2017 Dees jumper, and I'll get a $200 Eftpos card from iSelect for changing both providers. Win win win for me :)) All I can say is as a member, I'm happy to support the companies that support the club. If they give you a call, at least give them the chance to see if they can save you some hard earned. (And yes, I know this is my first post. Long time lurker. Pinky swear I have absolutely no affiliation with iSelect or anything else nefarious that would give me reason to tell porky pies on this forum.)3 points

Yes, he said it on FoxFooty. Said our recruiters really rated Billings and that we would have selected him if we didn't do the deal with GWS. They were discussing Billing's improvement and it was on the back of his 5 goal 30 disposal game.3 points

I agree with this. Goodwin continually talks about building a brand "from the comtest out". While every team aspires to some extent be hard around the ball, Goodwin (and Roos) have backed it up with the cattle brought into the midfield and the style they play. There are clearly still flaws but one thing that can't be questioned is that we are now a hardened midfield that will match or better any other team in the league as far as winning the hard ball. This, coupled with the umps putting the whistle away, bodes well for how we should fare once we make it to September.3 points

I do not think we have earnt that kind of fear from other clubs...yet.3 points

I expect Kent to get another chance this year, it's not a particularly tough team to break into at the moment. That said, I hope the selectors don't reward Dean for another one-off effort at Casey. He needs to put in three or more consecutive weeks of 100% effort and intensity before they should even think of bringing him back.3 points

Do we have a "special" category of membership for the people of Alice Springs and Darwin? It seems to me we should have a one-game membership option for residents of these two places which gets you into the game and provides other standard perks (although I doubt the people from Darwin would want a scarf - perhaps their membership could come with a cap instead). If we did, we could sign people up as they enter the ground and that would give us a nice little bump in numbers over the weekend.3 points

I'm a premium Member. Its absolutely great. Ive had 25 years of a grand final ticket should Melbourne compete! You just cant buy that! AND Premium Members are not only sent the team list 1 hour earlier, we are sent the final score on a Friday AND the final ladder position in early August. You should all join. Its well worth it PS We win by 35 points, Oliver BOG, Viney reported for grimacing, medium impact.3 points

Being in every game is meaningless when we are out of it when it counts. 3 of our 4 wins we have taken decent big leads to the final quarter. Every arm wrestle lost bar one. Last season we only managed to fight it out back in round one. This year so far we have improved it to round 2. There is a pattern there.2 points
-
Again, you are too rosey eyed. Being "in" every game is no longer enough. Norf shouldn't get a look in against us if we are a finals side, but we simply cannot get over the line against them. While It's definitely nice to roll a couple of top sides, no team will make finals if they continually roll over against bottom 6 teams. A 2 goal loss against a bottom side is about 8 goals short of where we should be at this stage. Close is far from good enough.2 points

No, quite simply no. I like Tyson, but he is what he is, and I don't see that changing. Good, solid player. Salem would not be in the top 20 if the draft was redone now. Only Melbourne supporters would disagree with this. I don't see him being A grade, in what position do you see this? Hunt is the one the could go in many directions so makes it harder to judge. I'm pretty sure I have seen you call Kelly an outside player, which shows you have not watched much of him this season. If Tyson and Salem are pushing A. Kelly is A+++ Pick 20 goes along with Kelly.2 points

Totally disagree, but I'm wasting my time. Ditto for you, too. We aren't pushovers and can match it with anyone.2 points

I can't argue that we should have won more games than we should, but we are no pushovers. If it clicks and we sneak into the finals then I would expect that no side would want to play us. Our win over Adelaide is proof that when we play well we can beat anyone in the comp.2 points

We've been in every game so far this year. True, we've lost a couple we should have won, but we are a threat to every team in the comp when we're on. But to each their own.2 points

"We are expecting Gold Coast's best." Statement by Nathan Jones in an interview yesterday. I believe we heard this prior to the Hawks and Roos games and in both those games it was like we actually waited for quarter time to see what the opposition brings.2 points
