Well every face turned up to training today. The older group ran in groups laps of the oval. Chunk was a leader by miles. Hogan ran without that pregnant cow swagger until the last 1/2 lap when he was urged by others to finish it off hard. The swagger then raised its head again but by and large he has improved his gait out of site. Trenners was welcomed back into the fold of competitive running. Gawn was running really well and right up there with the leaders. I saw Terlich at the start but didn't see him for long. Anyone who said he had put on muscle must have been looking in the showers because from my view point he was still a runt. The then went through a series of 40m timed sprints. They all looked pretty quick, but no one broke any records that I could see. I went over to the Punt Road side and watched a few of the rehab go through some timed routines. ANB, Jeffery, Trenners were doing some 75% running exercises. ANB tweaked his left knee last week, nothing serious he said it was bandaged but didn't seem to be affecting him. Trenners seems to be running well, but I would like to see him In A couple of months and see if he can sprint. He said he should be joining in kicking with the main group before Xmas. I sai to Jeffrey what are you doing here. I don't know he replied. You don't get much out of Jeff. Chunk has recovered well from C4-C5 disc replacement, he said when it happened he couldn't raise his arm. He said he is glad he got the surgery done or next year may not have been possible. Petracca was getting the feel of football again with crosstie getting him to take overhead marks. Chunk had him kicking to long leads. Just like a high half forward would be putting it down the throat of a leading FF IMHO. The group then split up into two groups occupying each end of the ground. The then went about getting the ball out of defence. Then getting the ball back into FF. Every player started one on one and they spread as required. Apart from a few errant kicks the workout was pretty good. I left there about 3:45 so some else may add more.16 points

Summary of Goodwin's comments: -Will pick best available at 3 & 7. -There are 5-6 players at 3 they are interested in. -Won't reach for a tall player will pick best player at 7. Satisfied with current tall stocks due to drafting King, McDonald & Frost in recent years. -Have not put any strategy into what other teams will pick, they will pick best available at 3 & see who falls through to 7 -Had no player in mind when setting up picks 3 & 7 as they want to get as much top end draft talent while they can. -Reiterated that if a tall is available they won't reach for the tall player they will draft strictly best available talent.11 points

Love how we grabbed Weideman with the pick that belonged to Collingwood prior to trade week. That'll drive some Pies fans nuts! (Treloar's a decent consolation…) SW listed at 196cm. Genuine KP height.9 points

He is the chosen one... he will bring balance back to the force Just worked out that taking Collingwood royalty as our own is the key to ending the Norm Smith curse!8 points

Sanderson commented that Weideman could be the steal of the draft. On talent alone he believes he could be a number one talent. If he was able to get some consistent footy together instead of being injured he believes that he could have been the number 1 draft pick. If we can get this kids body right then we may have our F50 sorted for the next 10 years.8 points

Those highlights are seriously funny at times. He's fair dinkum taking the [censored] with a few of those touches. The only risk with this kid is that in the future he finds football too easy and looks for a bigger challenge.7 points

I love Gawny at the end, gave me goosebumps. Geez I'd love to see Trenners get back on the park. That would be a must see game IMO.7 points

I actually liked the way he picks himself. He obviously knows he had bit of a shocker this year and believes he can play substantially better. There is no reason why he can't become a key member of an up and coming Melbourne side. He did come 3rd in the Collingwood B &F the year he left. But the thing I absolutely love about that video was how pretty much everyone was picking Petracca. There is a fair bit of genuine excitement surrounding him. Next year could be the funnest year to be a Melbourne supporter in a long time7 points

I don't mind that, as its his way of acknowledging his woeful performance in 2015.7 points

He looks like a canteen lady. You may not be able to make a proper evaluation from watching highlights videos, but anyone that dedicated to a Facebook thread about themselves gets my nod of approval.7 points

The one - main - thing that separates Hogan and the other good key forwards from Watts is courage in the air. Hogan has it in spades, Watts has none. The fact JT has described Weideman as having 'elite courage in the air' is promising. Let's hope he has better hands than Dawes and kicks straighter than Ben Holland.6 points

Yes, but he's gone to Essendon, so he should be twice the size by season's start.6 points

I'm just about to vomit after reading some of these comments. Parish can clearly play, and the only thing I'm concerned about is whether Oliver and Weideman make it as AFL footballers.6 points

Had a look for a while from about 3-4:30. Didn't see Terlich, Newton, Lumumba, Vince, Spencer. Only saw Brayshaw watching. Three in the rehab group - Trenners, ANB, Jeffy. Plus Jones, Petracca. Jesse is grumpy at the moment. Angry at team mates. Seemingly holding himself back in the running. Not sure what is going on there. Still has a laugh every now and then. Wasn't happy with the [censored] kicks from some players and fair enough too. The talk might have been a bit too negative but I'd take that over the previous complacency. Up to the coaches and leaders to make sure the mix of positive and negative feedback is there. JKH repeatedly tried to do too much in drills and was repeatedly told by all and sundry to take the simple option. Viney dropped a mark, JKH picked it up, Viney went in for the tackle, JKH evaded him beautifully for a few steps, then met his mark. It's going to take something very special to slip Jack from a tackle. Grimes was training well. Looks well also. Mitch White looked even better. So did Jack Watts. Dunn hasn't missed the buffet, but he's always looked that way. Jayden Hunt found the ball in a few drills. Runs well and marks strongly on a lead. Unfortunately, is one of those who can't kick. Might be getting better but seems a low base. I notice a couple of well timed spoils from Melksham, he does have good reach, the half back idea might just be a winner. Kent, Dawes, Vanders, Melksham, Hogan and King did a few repeat 300's. Not sure what they did to deserve it. Kent led out the first few, then Dawes took over. Not a lot of distance between the first 5. Unfortunately Kingy still looks like a sure thing to get your money back in a cup sweep, he struggles to stay with the others. It was a good session from what I saw and a heavy focus on skills under pressure and quick sharp decision making.6 points

This was I think a snide reference to Jordie McK - the dedication, work ethic, ability to get every ounce from himself, and courage would also be well worthwhile transferring to any player.5 points

WADA and CAS (l put them together deliberately knowing that several on here will have a "pink fit" because in this particular case the way which the case is conduced is primarily the responsibility of the Court ie CAS, with the co-operation of the prosecution) learnt much from their action against Armstrong. They realised then how difficult it was to get to the truth inside a court with a media circus circus outside, particularly one heavily manipulated by professional media spin doctors biased to one side, hand in hand with vested interest media proprietors. Hence a closed court, witnesses giving testimony via video links so there is no ambush as they go in and out of the court, and those who work on the case both here and in Switzerland/Montreal sworn to secrecy. There are no leaks coming out of those organisations hence nothing to spin. And aren't we all better off for it.5 points

I don't see any point re-living past drafts. People like to re-do drafts and laud over them, I find that to be pointless. What is done is done. Bring on tonight's draft.4 points

Oliver's TAC season courtesy of champion data's twitter. Ranking points are equal to supercoach points. Personally, not sold on oliver at pick 3 as it seems a stretch, however; if the club see something and pick him at 3 I'll get around him like any other player.4 points
