  6. I now have an image of O'Meara being presented with his MFC guernsey at a press conference, cameras everywhere, people cheering, and then PJ hands him a big sack. "Is this them?" Asks Jeager. PJ gives a subtle nod. Jeager completes his interviews and photo opps, but his mind is elsewhere. After his PR responsibilities are done, Jeager races home with his sack. He opens it. Could it be? Yes, it is! The left nut of every single poster on Demonland! Jeager O'Meara then goes on to become the greatest player of all time, returning home after each game to his collection of... preciouses...

  10. Honestly we forget we're we are coming from... We had the worst list by far from any other afl club including terrible culture & a busket case of administration. We forget the weekly 100pt loses & a splintered club & close to a decade of poor drafting & crap development... Look at premiership clubs of Geelong & hawthorn & wr they come from.. Took bomber Thompson 8 seasons to win a flag & were expecting after 18mths of Roos to fix our club... Just as frustrated/angry with the crap over the last 8 yrs but also a realist...

  11. I would think so dazzle. I can't remember a time where so many of us (and we are very devoted) are struggling to continue to support this club. It's been 9 long years with only a very very small respite in 2010. I blame no one if they have had enough. I myself am hanging by a thread.

  14. If other clubs were actually monitoring him they'd realise he isn't worth $600k.

  15. Couldn't really give a [censored] anymore. If they are not willing to drop players on the back end of some terrible weeks (Dawes) then my care factor is out the window - oh well draft time is only 7 months away

  16. In that case I'd do it even if O'Meara never plays a game for us.

  17. Mids from other teams set up to win his taps too... We can plan all we like but better footy players will win out. I went to a coaching course a few months ago and Crocker from NM (don't know if TGR went to this seminar too) pointed out that they set up for Jamar winning the taps by reading where Jones was going and then hit that spot before he got there. It was fascinating and cruel to watch (he put it up on the projector) as a Dees fan. Our great midfielder was the reckoning to our demise in the middle; the better he got, the more we relied on him, and the worse teams could punish us by curtailing him. We simply need more midfielders as good as Jones, Vince and Tyson (2014 version). Viney is getting there, Brayshaw will get there, we hope Petracca gets there, we wish Prestia comes here, and maybe a couple more...Vanders?

  18. Not be surprised, never know what this team will serve up now days. I must admit though, that is better than knowing they will be crap, which is where we were a couple of years ago.

  20. Geelong was saying that about Hawkins v. Selwood surely. For the first 5 years at least. OK to have a go at Watts and expect more; but insignificant when you consider we let slip Port's next captain, and to a lesser extent Brisbane's current one. Also, I might add, letting that multi-dimensional tall go in Martin (who is in contention for AA), and keeping Spencer and Jamar and co... Watts is what he is. We picked him. FWIW, I feel better when Watts is playing. He certainly understands Roos/Goodwin's game plan better than any other player. And finally, I don't doubt Goodes' hurt for one moment. I feel sorry for him as the football following public are mostly a bunch of simpleton's and sheep anyway. But I tell you what. Jack Watts has had it harder and longer than Goodes has...to be truthfully honest. Not one sulk, when so many would have walked away for less. Watts might not be the most physically imposing player we have, but I reckon he is mentally tougher than most; including all here, most players, most people full stop....bar Julia Eileen. pTGR

  21. Or alternatively he finds rumours on football forums and turns it into "news" because so many people are willing and desperate to believe.

  24. I reckon it's more likely someone like Fasolo will kick 5. We'll probably put Howe on him and he'll spend the entire day playing 30 metres away from him.

  27. He is a gun would cost a lot and be worth it Knee issues don't worry me to much, he is very professional and driven. He isn't the first and wont be the last youngplayer with injury problems putting a question mark over him Andrew Mcleod had knee issues he learnt to manage and players with that level of professionalism Would be happy with that sort of outcome

  31. Watts has had his best year! Pure class. Love when he has the footy and has improved on his urgency tenfold. I think i read somewhere that Watts has better stats across all areas than Goddard did in the same amount of time.

  39. And yet this is unrelated to Roos' short term tenure. The players being the effort each week. If they are too scarred to perform then we need to change the players. But changing the players takes time. And if you keep changing coaches you will keep scarring new players. The only solution is long term, off field stability while we regenerate the list and replace the players who don't bring effort.

  43. I met Jack at the family day at Luna Park. He was lovely - humble, listened to what we had to say and made plenty of time for every fan ( young and old). My daughter adores him. We have a great photo of the three of us and I can honestly say out of all of the players I met that day, Jack was by far the nicest and most obliging with his time. If I was young enough to run through the banner, I would pick Bernie closely followed by Jack.

  44. agree wholeheartedly, sick to frickin' death 'supporters' getting stuck into Watts, he's been playing well and it wasn't his fault some of his teammates were so insipid last Sunday, thought he did ok

  46. i would like to see brayshaw playing on the half back line he has the class to get the ball and more importantly has the run and has proven he can be damaging delivering the ball forward and the man is a tackling beast.

  47. My daughter ran out with the players a number of weeks ago and they are asked who their favorite player is. They get to keep the jumper, shorts and socks and meet a number of the players before the game. My daughter chose Jack and that is why she ran out with him. the club were wonderful with her and made it a fantastic day for her first game.

  48. Dumb people bagging out Nathan Jones. The Flower of our generation, respected (finally) by AFL community but questioned stupidly by morons on here after a loss. He is the heart of the demons and not the problem.
