Yea finally game day, a big chance for us to show what we can do in a huge game at their home ground where we haven't won in who knows how long. I personally think we are a chance, the coach has been able to put together a game plan that pressures this team, we just need that little bit of composure in the final 3rd and I think we can get it done. We have a really good mix of experience and youth against an ageing team that has been dominant for a long time. Go Wallabies!!!9 points

I have no personal animosity towards Chip, who until this year has been a great and loyal Demon. I just despise the system that causes this. Players become deceitful. They don't give their best. Supporters get angry. I understand that football careers are short and players need to do the best for themselves, but this FA system is not really working.5 points

We won!!! Out scored Carlton this weekend. Woo hoow! F yea! Go dees, special team.4 points

So far tonight the most interesting and inspiring thing I've learned is that the auto-censor on Demonland doesn't pick up 'shitfest'. Or maybe it is a special exemption for tonight?4 points

I emotionally prepared myself for complete slaughter this week and am glad I did. I'm watching feeling little more than minor annoyance. That lack of preparation last week nearly killed me.4 points

What can we take from this loss other than a festering rage? Viv Michie had a decent game, probably as good a gme as we've seen from him. Viney and Fitz showed a couple of glimpses. It may have helped clarify the thoughts of the FD on who they should be trading out later this year. That's about all really. Shocking game from most of them. The same crap passing, The same inability to take the ball cleanly. The same long bombs into the forward line. Slow ball movement which gives the opposition time to get numbers behind the ball forcing our forwards to take pack marks rather than 1-1 or leading. Not that leading does any good when the pass is put straight past you to your opponent. Hard to watch folks.3 points

Well I just don't know what I'm supposed to do now. I'm back in the position I was in at the beginning of the year where I'm surviving on the last of my reserves and watching purely because I feel I should. Last week I was totally and utterly shattered, to the point where I couldn't even bring myself to log on to Demonland for four days, read any footy news, watch any other footy or talk footy with other people. This week, I braced myself for a royal slaughtering, which has made it more bearable, but it's just batshit boring. I despise that feeling of knowing that even when we have the ball, you just know they're going to stuff it up somehow, and that when the opposition have it, you just know they're going to score. I'm not angry, or hurt or anything like that this week (I was last week, make no mistake). Just bored and wondering why I waste three hours of my time every weekend with entertainment that offers at best nothing, and at worst anger and frustration. It's not the first time I've asked the question of why I should bother watching next week, but I'm back there again. Only got to survive through one more, thank heavens.3 points

I honestly would love to see a stat for the number of times a player loses his feet, I reckon Jack Watts would comfortably be the league leader.3 points

I don't care about the score. I just want to see 22 committed players who are prepared to put their body on the line and make a contest. Last week's performance was the most disgraceful performance by a team I have ever seen, and I just want them to have a go.3 points

Redleg. You're way out of line suggesting we seek compensation because a player might want out as a result of free agency opportunities. I'm all for obtaining draft assistance this year because the AFL rules cater for this and we comply with the criteria but the compo for FA is the draft selection you get if you lose the player and there's a formula for that within the rules. Beyond that there should be no compensation. If you believe your FA isn't playing with the right attitude because he has a foot halfway out the door then the answer is to pick your players better in the first place, create a proper environment for them and then develop them properly.3 points

The faster Chip ****s off, the stronger our culture will be. Got no time for him and it's incredulous that Roos didn't drop him weeks ago. He's mentally checked out and has been for months. You can't have someone in the leadership group who isn't committed to the club. It sends an appalling message to everyone in the team about our culture.3 points

Merge with Port Adelaide and become Port Melbourne... the added benefit for certain posters on here would be that we finally get Ollie Wines.3 points

Second Quarter: The umps actually paid some our way. They seem to have realised how one-sided they were being. Fitz improved and scored a couple. His teammates also improved and passed it to him a bit. Watts outmarked Bennell. Once. I still think Michie and Viney have a bit of game sense. Vince also showed some pretty good judgement. We are still fumbling and making poor decisions. Still kicking over the head of the leading forward. Even when that forward is 200+cm tall. All in all a better effort, but they certainly don't look like making a dent in the deficit. Stayed in it through tenacity rather than skill.2 points

Sometimes you just have to laugh. I'd like to point something out. Bennell, the player we got rid of because he skirted every contest and refused to take contact, is outbodying Watts consistently.2 points

Amazed at how many posters dont understand cancer that infiltrates a team,And how hard it is to get rid of. Dont forget JW played a good quarter one day this year.Maybe it will reproduce itself next year. PR,im sure will cut out the cancer with no emotion whatsoever. If not we are rooted.2 points

From BF. Too good not to share: "Can only imagine Roosy ripped the almightiest of bongs before team selection and selected Fitzy on the belief that he was Big Bird. Seriously at this point I'd take the aforementioned T. Tumbleweed over any of our players. At least it isn't afraid to back into packs. And how is it in 2014, I can go down to the shops and buy peanut butter tim tams and a vanilla coke slurpee, but I still look at the Dees team for the week and see "IN: ROHAN BAIL". I've tried asking Burgatron on the MFC website but all he responds with is "it's a tough one". I swear to god if someone actually chose to support this club with a clear and functional fully formed adult brain rather than from being indoctrinated from birth like I was, they'd be considered batsh!t crazy. Why do we do it to ourselves Melbourne supporters? All we ever have to look forward to is the draft and we always manage to c0¢k it up! I remember heralding Cale Morton as the next Robbie Flower on this very site six years ago now.. I actually said that I kid you not. This club has destroyed my brain and now even worse, it's destroying my enthusiasm. But hooray, Cam Pederson is back in the team. F#$%ing hell I need a cigarette. and I don't even smoke."2 points

To be fair, we're not getting the grief from her that I've come to expect. You could go so far as to say she was actually being quite supportive (in Footy Classified that I've seen anyway). So, in this instance, maybe 'Are you there Damian?' might be closer to the mark (or, 'Are you there Purple?')2 points

I think it is pretty obvious isn't it? He comes from a community where playing in the AFL isn't the be all and end all, playing footy is about hanging with your mates and taking speccies (quoted from Waylen himself who has openly admitted how much he struggles with the training). I think from watching the show it was almost blatantly obvious he didn't have the mindset of an AFL footballer. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with his attitude, it just isn't what is required to make it in the modern game, which is actually a bit sad, but that is the way it is.2 points
