I’m with Dazzle here - this is giving me 98/00 vibes.

Green and Bruce are rookies able to play out a year?? (Latrelle)

Daniel Ward is a top 6 HBF/wing in the league?? Er, ok. (Langdon)

Matty Collins is Peter Dean?! Huh. (Howes)

Smattering of proud vets.

Fun, run and gun football??

Langdon playing his best season since 21. I thought he was heading for a de-listing but he has been excellent.

This sounds like a wind up.

Loved the scarf waving to the Irish jig after a goal.

I didn’t think I’d be hearing that fiddle much, but it got better and better.

I reckon Jim would have been as proud of the club as I feel right now.

This just in!

The Harvey Langford critics can take the week off!!

The best part of today was being able to explain pre-game to my daughter who the great man was and what he did on and off the field

Might watch some footy shows this week. Starting with the first crack, but will still avoid classified

Definitely avoid the mid week tackle also

Would have loved one of those hats. Was too late on that one.

I can’t avoid reading it. It does bother me to read it, so I replied. I asked nicely to leave off until tomorrow the negatives that come from this game. It’s not a huge ask. But you do you, fellah.

Well, bad luck, I don't live in fantasy land, and I'm free to comment.

Gee we still have the wood over the Lions. Im glad that in their premiership winning era, we are still their bogey team in the midst of a rebuild.

Love to the response from Langford... Best game of the year arguably of his short career. If he can pull another 5-6 of those types of games this year (in his second year) he'll be everything we hoped for in the years to come. Today is the benchmark for him - he wont do it every week - but every 2-3 games.

Loved THolstrup's game as well. Playing a few different roles for us atm and im liking they way he is maturing and responding.

There’s a lot to like about this team.

They are fast and exciting to watch.

Kudos to the coach and the recruiters.

Did anybody see/know what caused Petty's concussion? Because he didn't look to take a hit close to when he miskicked the ball, so why was he on the field? (Not casting aspersions, it's just odd). Did the medicos come out and see him before that?

It was really bizarre, didn't notice any hits earlier in the game either but maybe he had a knock last week/at training that wasn't identified? Only seemed to bother him after that kick and he became light headed/weak legged.

I appreciate the passion and red tinted classes.. but I'd prefer forget about 1999... P

In my eyes this team is actually a lot like the 2022 Pies...

Picked us to win by 8, guess it was a good pick!

What a performance.

Chandler, take a bow.

Langford, brilliant.

JVR and Checkers, great improvements.

Beautiful team win.

Hopefully if and probably when Picket gets suspended for the bump purely due to injury sustained, it’s a week only and he can rest the Richmond game and hang out with his family. Thankfully, they are so heavily injury prone it’s probably good timing if it had to happen. Hope he stops with the unnecessary bumps.

Go Dees.

Is it true Heath only played 27% game time?

strange if true

hard to make any impact.

I saw JVR take a few ruck contests too

Latrelle was important in the last quarter. He had many touches playing upfield. Not match winning, but important when it mattered. The Pickett boys either look for each other, but me thinks they know each other. It comes natural.

Jeffo had some good moments, but he seemed more focused and attacked the ball. To me he had the confidence to go hard. For a man who isn’t known to be hard, I was impressed by his confidence and attack.

Small wins from two inexperienced but talented men.

Kolt had his best game.

It’s all about development and I’m proud of Jeffo and Kolt. Two whipping boys who improved on today’s performance.

I agree but I do understand people wanting to celebrate for now.

First Crack reckons it happened 10 mins earlier in a contest on the wing. No noticeable signs until the error.

That look on his face isn't something I'll forget for a while.

And this is why I'd take what Langford does over Oliver at the moment. I know that Langford has a bit of catching up to do with what Clayton achieved, but give me langfords 3 goals and his 27 possessions today. He barely wasted one & after his first fumble he barely put a foot wrong

And how many goal assists?

I always thought Gary Hardeman tended to hoof it on occasions, but l'm probably on my own with that one.

Totally he did.

Went along today, and just as @Swooper1987 said, was a very even contribution from all.

I was most excited about how composed the backline was today, especially Tholstrup and Howes.

Both Kozzie and Latrelle spotting up teammates in the forward 50. Love it. Previously Kozzie would’ve pinged away, he has matured into a team player these last 2 years.

Sharp is surprising us all, doing team things, bobbing up for goals.

Keep it up Kingy, we are loving it 🄰

Thought Latrelles pass to Langford in the last quarter I think was awesome and Langford kicked the goal too.

For a first yr player to not only see Langford as he is running flat out but stick the pass to is very promising for the future.

What a win nobody expected us to win and we done it. Langford, Chandler, van Rooyen, Steele and Gawn all fantastic. A win for the ages let's bring on Richmond hopefully we have learned from our mistakes against Essendon.

Um . . . no. A number on here were quietly confident.

But some go into review mode quicker than others. It all about attitude. Don’t call out others without owning your own,

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
