I wonder every week do people ever look back with embarrassment on their posts

No.

If self-reflection (or any reflection for that matter) was part of their makeup they wouldn't make Those Kinds Of Posts in the first place.

What was the Melbourne crowd like? I couldn't be there today but definitely scared some of my neighbours.

Not far off 100 points in a half of footy.

And am I happy that I never read the match day thread.

Whoever it was that was mowing their lawn after quarter time – you can come in now, all good! 🍻

Replay should be worth a watch.

I’ll admit I went out and split some wood at half time to release so anger. Was back in front of TV for start of second though.

One of our most enjoyable wins in a very long time.

Jake Lever superb throughout the day. Stood tall when under siege and then won some crucial contests late to protect the momentum.

Langford and Windsor stop fumbling and they will become serious players.

Gees King is brave testing how much of a head start we can give other teams.

Sucks to be a Carlton supporter.

Dunno how to quantify or explain, it’s more a feeling I get… but when we kick goals now it’s more like our players get energy from it. Previous seasons it was like a relief to get a goal. Feels different.

Probably a good indication of what our best and worst footy will look like this year in that game. 2-1 after 3, not bad at all Kingy.

Without a doubt that was one of the most satisfying, heart-warming and gutsy performances I've ever attended. I barely ever cry but I started welling up late in the last quarter.

There's so many players I want to praise to the point where I'd feel bad to those I left out. Pickett was [censored] classy. The amount of criticism he copped in the game day thread was bizarre. His skills were sublime.

Gawn's durability for a 34 year old ruckman is absolutely insane. Every week he continues to push his case for one of our greatest ever.

Fritsch admittedly does go missing but his second half showed why you should never write him off. He has a knack for kicking goals when we need him most.

Tmac showed why he should never have been out of the team. He and Lever were the reason why we were still in the game in the first half.

And I owe Sparrow an apology. I criticised him during the game but his second half was the best I've seen him play.

This is the most I've loved the club in about three years.

What a strange feeling.....After the last couple of years there was no way I would have thought we could come back from that deficit. We toughed it out and never gave up and got the reward. An ordinary day turned into a ripper. Go Dees.

Guilty!

Although, I came back in 5 mins into the last quarter by chance

Amongst all the positives, JVR now hasn't kicked a goal in two matches.

And seeing I'm being Mr. Downer, nor has L Pickett.

Other concern is a few of the players seem fumble-prone - Windsor for one. Was something that Carlton really pounced on in the first half, and will expose us whenever we come up against decent teams.

Still plenty to work on, though hopefully, plenty to work with.

Talk about MFCSS... I knew Melbourne were coming hard for the win and I wanted to message my family who were at the game to stay strong and hang in there. But I didn't want to mozz it, so I said nothing. We're a weird superstitious bunch! well done Melbourne and congratulations to the TMAX on 500 games. well deserved 👏

Amazing come back.

I have to eat my hat. 40 odd points down and playing like donkeys (bar a couple) and the boys found something. I figured we were goneski.

Lead by Koz after a HT chat from King. What did he say i wonder "clean up your disposal and we're in this!" And Maxy of course.

Hats off to Sharp who i thought showed the way in the 1st Q plus and persisted with his live wire efforts and pace throughout the match.

Big Maxy amazing through the middle after Q time with assists from Steele, Koz & Spaz, who i thought found his mojo after he was moved there from about half way through the 2nd.

The concerns from this game for mine...

The lack of composure early, especially through the middle and just in general. The fumbles, missed targets and constant down the line kicking in the first half.

Petty who was way off the pace the entire match. Turner a no brainer for him imv.

Rooh, who improved after HT but was mostly ineffective for the second week running. Is it too early to start blooding Heath in this position in the short term. He may not last given he doesn't have the tank but for a few matches here and there he could give us and Max a genuine chop out ruck and a tall resting ruck up forward who can get the ball to ground for our smalls.

Lindsay, shows signs at times but in the next breath looks completely lost. To be expected from a young inexperienced fella but surely Rivers is an option here playing a similar role?

Kentfield will hopefully recover quickly and get going for a potential entre' at some point this season. We need a third medium - tall target to straighten us up and hit the scoreboard occasionally.

Speaking of which, Melk would also be handy off the bench here if he gets over his niggles and comes into some good form via Casey.

Greatest come back win since 2021 and super way to celebrate the 250 double!
