Another speedy Adams! Must be in the name. RIP Bluey.

Iโ€™ve been hoping Jed Adams would develop into a good AFL player.

Every time Iโ€™ve watched him at Casey , heโ€™s been soundly beaten one on one.

He played ok in his only AFL game, and heโ€™s a good kick.

I thought he was poor for Casey last week.

TMac has a proven record as a defender. Please replace Disco with TMac.

Curious how you pronounce that name

Ta-lor like tala?

Players arenโ€™t going to be dropped on form off of a couple of games - you donโ€™t want players playing with fear a mistake will get you dropped. Heโ€™s also been excellent at other times? Bizarre comment

players are learning an entirely new system - it is going to take time? Good grief

And he also missed an elementary set shot in the first quarter after Freo kicked 5 straight goals. We needed a bit of leadership from a 7 year player to help stem the tide.

A new game plan shouldnโ€™t exonerate a player from fumbling a handball receive or missing a 40 metre set shot directly in front.

He wonโ€™t be dropped this week, but I donโ€™t think itโ€™s that bizarre to expect more from players like Rivers.

And I donโ€™t overly agree that heโ€™s been โ€œexcellentโ€ at other times.

How was your pre season Red

Bit scratchy.

Midfield needs to step up or at least halve the contest, that is the only area of the ground that they have us covered.

We will learn about the team this game, are we truly selfless and connectedโ€ฆโ€ฆ. I hope so because that should mean that we kick the ball to where Weitering ainโ€™t.

T Mac, just a no fuss blue collar player thatโ€™s just ultra consistent.

Max the undisputed goat and an absolute warrior. Congratulations and thanks to both on your 250 games.I expect the team to get up for this one and get the job done. Demons by 5 goals.

Heโ€™s probably on notice this weekend.

I donโ€™t think King wouldโ€™ve been too impressed with him dropping a handball pass from Steele that resulted in a costly turnover on the wing.

Xavier Lindsay very lucky was terrible last week, Rivers, Sparrow and Trelly ( if he plays) on notice, get Harvey Langford back in the guts!

Lindsay was terrible because he is not a [censored] defender!
Just like Fritta and Widsor before them and tbh Salem who even after 10+ years is an ok defender.
I'd rather have him on a wing and Langford in the guts and an actual defender playing half back.

Where did Lindsay play in his U18 games???

Laurie to come in for L Pickett?

Deserves chance/s. Thought he added a bit in the preseason games. Honestly I think he is a better version of Spargo. A link up player we need around HF to transition out of midfield better.

Also he seems far more AFL ready than Pickett....atm anyway!

Torn.

Like to see Bill get a few runs...just to know.

Like to see Trelly build

TBH I thought he was a midfielder, if he played as a defender in the juniors then it just proves that he is a poor defender and shouldn't play there.

Hey PF, not footy related, butโ€ฆhow are you quoting people in your posts? Youโ€™ve gone from having the quote appearing twice in your posts, to the quote appearing three times in the post Iโ€™m now quoting?

Laurie has shown he's not a small forward. His best form at Casey has been as a midfielder. So, if he comes in for anyone, it should be to replace a midfielder, not a small forward.

What if the coach decides to debut #41 and we go to King's Cross?

This is now Bailey Laurie's SIXTH year on our list. If there was an AFL player there we'd have seen it by now at that level, even in glimpses. We haven't.

People clinging on are deluded.

Ok, Iโ€™ll bite..

Laurie was drafted during a covid year, where most players from that draft had missed substantial development blocks.

Under Goodwin he has been played primarily as a sub, so to be honest, we are not really sure what he can offer. He had a good game where he kicked a few goals as sub, but was dropped not long after. Not sure he is an inside Mid, he is a winger, but played in the middle, due to lack of options at VFL.

Kings style will suit good ball users, so letโ€™s judge him at the end of this season.

To win games against top quality opponents, we'd need nearly everything to go our way

For the rest (Carlton included) we need about 10-12 players to have a really solid output ... 7/10 up to 9/10

But the mis-match is the Blues midfield vs our midfield. As stated by a few others here on this thread, we need to find a way to go close to breaking even on the day (in the midfield)

There's no point chatting about who we haven't got anymore, we need our midfield to find a way

Game is definitely winnable. If Goodwin were still here the media would be talking it up as two desperate coaches going head to head.

Now it's almost a must win for Carlton as are the next few weeks if Voss is going to continue much past the mid season bye.

Perfect cool weather for late Sunday football.

Too small, too slow, doesn't find enough football and doesn't use it well enough. I honestly don't understand how he is still on the list.

Quote the quote and then quote the next and subsequent quotes. If you leave a quote out you can go back and requote the missed quote but once you quote a quote youโ€™ll have to manually delete that quote. I find it best just to quote one quote at a time. Donโ€™t quote me on this though.
