Brilliant - lets push the stereotypes. Its the one thing that makes us different.

That, and our own teeth.

Best looking supporters according to Miochec 😎

Any DL'ers make an appearance?

I would be surprised if Cados is not in here. 😁

Well that was a fun clip, So MFC, humorous and polished, Brody is going to cop it.

With May MIA, it will be Langdon or him for the most booed player on KB game.

Love this…Sidebottom has already tweeted that “Checkers is dead to him “bring on KB. Unbelievably so has Tom Morris giving it 5 stars …

That was fun. Glad they’re leaning into the ‘Aunty Donna of it all’ with our nuffy redhead portion of that trio. He cares and it’s useful.

It's well done but I'm not a fan of leaning into the "lovable losers" schtick. I don't really care about the skiing/Chardonnay stereotype but let's not reinforce an image of being a horrible underperforming club. We won a flag this decade FFS 🙄

I'm sure I'll get piled on for being negative but I don't think projecting that image is going to endear us to potential members/supporters.

Where was Derryn Hinch? What about Neil Mitchell? Not in the young cool A grade status anymore?

Derryn isn't too well at the moment from what I hear.

As for Neil, one of the last times I recall he made a public appearance as a MFC member was when he said the club had a 'smell of death' about it. Circa 2013 from what I recall.

I loved it rpfc. I think they are trying lighten things up after the end of 2025 and the loss of two champions of our premiership side.

Dr that is one way of looking at it. The other way is it is meant to calm people down after a poor season and the loss of 2 Premiership champions. Hang loose Dr I believe we are in good hands after some poor ones.

Absolutely brilliant. The only opportunity they missed was bemoaning not having a home to bring the club under one roof and somewhere for supporters to congregate 😅.

I like it though a touch long.
It's great that we are daring to be different for us by owning the illusion of what others think of us Skiing, Red wine, Cheeseboards, MCC, Go Number x etc.. and what alot are thinking (angst at losing two club greats, we have good kids, not our year-but why not).
Whether you like it (seems most) or not, it's well considered, well executed and certainly will be noticed. I do hope they have a shortened cut to use as online promo as well.

Not a fan, hey?

I personally think his choice in glasses lately has been quite peculiar but each to their own I guess.

Broden had his Aunty Donna character voice on.. love it..

Also, who is the lady in the video? Maybe I am oblivious, is she just a random or someone well known?

i thought it was very well done

leaned into the stereotypes and poked fun at ourselves

that only thing that was missing was a mention of MFCSS. but thats a small quibble.

Radio presenter from Triple J

Great video. Who are some other Dees celebrities who could have hypothetically featured?

Ones off the top of my head (not all of them necessarily big names or likeable)... Neil Mitchell, Mike Sheahan, Derryn Hinch, Nazeem Hussein, Rob Sitch, Rob Gel, Mal Walden, 2 of the Sooshi Mango guys...

Where the hell was my invite??

It was fun and enjoyable but will it sell memberships?

Veronica Milsom.

Known mostly as a Triple J host as well as comedic work with the likes of Shaun Micallef.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
