Words have truly escaped me.

I wonder what the crowd will be next week - against West Coast at Marvel early Saturday afternoon.

Any motivation I have to attend that game has currently been zapped out of me, this might change by Saturday but gee whiz.

But if are talking about Football, id much rather see Luker have a go next week than Petty.

I actually like Spargo, but I don't think he's a good choice of a sub. So at the moment, if he's not starting, he should be at Casey. I know Sharp doesnt set the world on fire but he's a good sub. if not him who else?

How the hell are we $1.11 favourites?

We will lose next week, our senior players have given up. Don't we have a CEO or President that has the balls to sack Goody and company? One flag in 57 years speaks volume as for the type of club that we are. If we are such a s.it side we have to drop several players next week why is Goody afraid of , his reputation is already ruined. I am sick to death of this club , no longer can i be a member of this garbage. Goody received a death threat probably one of his mates , Goody want us to feel sorry for him.

What chance we can give these scmucks a leg up too !!

the obvious selection choice was adam’s or petty down back and jeffo staying in or luker coming in, none of those of 4 things happened, writing is on the wall here obviously in invisible ink… FML

When !!!!

We lose, I hope Goodwin resigns.

We a destined for 4 years of pain.

Next year will only make it 5 without change

Spargo would be everything you don’t want in a Sub. First & foremost, you want your Sub to come on with fresh legs to outrun the opposition and provide a spark. Spargo comes on in the last quarter and he’s still the slowest player on the field.

I spoke pre game with some mates about the Saints fielding a smaller, quicker team, and for that reason we all thought Sharp was a better Sub on the fast track at Marvel.

Plus a permanent forward should contribute more than one goal every ten weeks.

First time I genuinely couldn't give a flying 'you know what' in regard to the changes next week.

Should Goody survive the next couple of days, a loss to West Coast will surely be the end of his tenure.

What a mess.

Take note @DeeSpencer

A reminder that your sub should never ever be a slow defensive half forward plodder at all times.

We butchered this big time.

Why was Spargo back? Did barely anything !!! Why was Sparrow back?? He was knocked out!!! Why was Petty back in ?? He did little at Casey.

I thought they’d at least give Johnson a game.

Take note of what?

Sharp’s proven to be a very ordinary footballer who’s had multiple goes as the sub and rarely done anything. He’s got some speed but it’s only useful on the very rare times he’s got a clear run to goal and he has no smarts in traffic.

He also needs to play some full games. He’s been subbed off 7 times and the sub twice.

If we had a genuinely quick forward capable of winning the pill and making an impact they’d be playing in the best 22.

I’m not sure why you’re focussed on our weakest position with tall forwards and flankers. Our 5 million dollar midfield fell apart and there’s nothing at Casey. He ran out of puff after half time so subbing him was totally reasonable but at least they finally had a look at Windsor in the guts.

Hardly the reason we lost though. Whoever the sub was, they weren't going to fix the catastrophic failure through the midfield and across our "leaders" to arrest the momentum or take ownership of the game.

FWIW there's no world in which Spargo should ever be the sub, and IMO he shouldn't be anywhere near the 23 anyway, but focusing on the sub selection today is really not at all important.

I never said Sharp was the right option nor should he play again this season. But your response that Spargo was the right sub choice because hes a defensive forward is a simply a poor choice. Hes a genuine slow plodder who added nothing when he came on. He either plays a full game or hes at Casey. There is no in between.

I've been just as scathing on the mids post game. Im not letting anyone off at all. They were a shambles in the last quarter and for a couple of guys that have cabinet drawer stack full of individual awards, they sure did go to water when the pressure went up.

I never once said it was the reason we lost today.

West Coast are young and as such have embraced the get away from town and be a tight knit group scenario a little this season.

This has ambushed written all over it

After yesterday’s 4th quarter I’m not sure Gawn and co have the bottle.

As for the coaches whatever they say to the players won’t get through the disconnect is there

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
