Windsor is

Sharp out.

Aren't we just reversing the change that was made two weeks ago? Most of our changes this year seem to have been undoing decisions that were made in previous weeks. There is absolutely no conviction or transparency with our selections this year.

Windsor in , Sharp out ..

Was the wait worth it ??

nah-it-aint-worth-it-kenan-thompson.gif

I actually don't mind the changes.

Windsor shouldn't have been dropped in the first place, we're giving Jeffo and Kolt another go (even with the latter probably sub)

I'd expect to see the Kentfield's and Mentha's of the world in a few weeks

I dont mind that Jefferson stays in.

Was hoping for Campbell and Howes though. Tholstrup is bloody lucky.

North outs make this a must win game.

Lose to an injury ravaged North and the club will officially be in crisis mode

that said i reckon we win by 20-30 points

What uninspiring selection, (though Sharp is a blessing) What exactly to look forward to this week?

Win well - big talent gap should be thunping these guys. Some of the younger players play well, some dont

Win small - lucky to win, will get easily beaten by the better teams. None of the younger players play well.

Lose - Meltdown. Hardly anyone plays well [Insert here] is underperforming and needs to be traded.

Not to say I dont want to win, but surely we need to use the next 8 weeks to learn something about our list, positional and roles if you are "rebuilding"

Spose I should wait for gametime and die of shock when May or Turner goes to FF, given their KPFs are worse than ours. No excuse not to put up 16 goals+ if the weather is fine.

People are acting like it’s the 2022 North Melbourne Kangaroos we’re playing. They’re not really much worse than us sorry to say. 4 bucks 50 is outrageous. I haven’t put a bet on for years but extremely tempted to whack 50 on that.

If we lose it will be a crisis on here I’m sure, but apart from being bitterly disappointing, I’m not sure it changes the plight of much at all.

If the club want Goody gone then a loss in a dead rubber to this North team isn’t going to be the dagger many think it is. Most likely he has his papers stamped either way already (my guess is he’s there in 2026).

I see Charlie Comben is back for North, we kicked it to him 4124 times earlier in the season.

Hopefully they avoid this tactic this time.

I almost invariably back team selections by our Match Committee (who are much better placed than any of us to make these calls) but I will make the observation that Fritta will need to serve up a much, much better effort than his ‘limp wet lettuce’ performance in Adelaide. He is much better than that!

He is very reliable. One of our few

He is not very damaging or quick but with an efficiency over 90% his kicks land.

the constant criticism of Salem is baffling to me. He is not our best player but he is solid and the least of our problems. With the issues we have such as the forward line and midfield it is bizarre that Salem gets singled out

Playing his role he shouldn’t be mid-table for metres gained.

I actually think he’s one of our bigger problems. IMO he’s just coasting through games, not influencing anywhere near the level we need from a half back who should be able to kick.

I agree, he offers absolutely nothing. We need to expose some of the kids.

He would be first out if I was selecting the squad. Chandler and Fritsch are close second/third.

What in Gods name has Tholstrup done to warrant selection

Perhaps because he can also Act very Alf likeTv Show Hello GIF by Laff

I’m not sure where Laurie is at, but surely it’s not at Melbourne next season.

I don’t mind persisting with Jeffo and Kolt, we need to make a lot of list management decisions in the next year, and we can’t make them without giving players exposure.

I would love to see Windsor back to a wing and Langford/Lindsay spending more time in the middle, with Viney playing a defensive forward role.

Salem is one of our Major Problems

He no longer attacks off Half Back with any quick penetration

He accumulates possessions but doesn’t do a lot with them

No what I’m getting at is. If only 1 play or 2 players are omitted on a Thursday for a Sunday. Only 1 or 2 can be bought in. Excluding late outs.

So when Sharp was the only player omitted. We could only choose one from the squad named.

Selection confusion aside.

I can’t wait to watch us kick ourselves out this game!!

Disappointed Campbell hasn’t been selected to help Max battle Xerri. He surely would offer more than Jefferson.

Completely agree and I was in the verge of posting exactly the same thing. Max has to beat Xerri because all else aside, in this match he is playing for his 8th AA - well, that's how I see it anyway. So he should have been given help.

It would also have enabled Roo to play as a pure forward and not be battered in the ruck. I have told the Club I am available as a selector.

Reportedly there’s another Melbourne based club very interested in him. Suspect he’ll get another gig.

It’s a great example of a lack of selection integrity though, on our behalf.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
