Want them to have earnt it, but I also want Fritta and JVR to find their way and find some confidence and form as soon as possible. We're a better side when Fritta is at his best and JVR should be the future of our forward line and stamping his authority all over the place.

We kill the clock correctly in Round 1 and we're 2-4.

The strange thing is it was a very similar game to the GWS game. Though today our bounce off half back was scintillating. Bowey BOG for mine. Set up so much of our play.

There's a sample size of 2 really clear examples of the game plan we're trying to play and so much starts from at stoppage, which we finally got mostly right today. But the biggest change was that final kick inside. It was superb today. I could count on one hand how many poor entries we had. A very welcome change, and you can see when we get that kick right, it doesn't matter too much who's down there, but as long as we get a contest, we look super dangerous.

We also looked to use the corridor and a short chipping game again that was more attacking than just possession maintenance that we saw in Round 1.

Amazing how we look when the players put in and the forwards lead at the ball carrier.

The game, even more so than Round 1, felt like the 2018 Goodwin team.

To paraphrase thegreat Roger Moore in For Your Eyes Only, "we're not dead yet, Goody".

There is something to be said for giving Chandler more opportunity further up the ground. He has the pace & he competes hard. Hopefully he’ll continue to get a run in that position rather than deep forward

Not sure if anyone has commented on this but we've been particularly bad at defending leads in the closing minutes, and one of the most frustrating parts is we've often succumbed to the long kick up the middle from the kick in, which is the obvious tactic when you're trailing and time is against you.

This game showed a genuine "learning" from that, Gawn was planted roughly in the middle of the ground and Freo proceeded to put it to contests with him in them three times in a row when they were coming at us, each time it ate up clock (and if we'd been a little cleaner would have buried them). Their last goal came because they adjusted and went with shorter kicks again, but too little too late. Was great to see.

Fantastic game, it's honestly hard to understand how we can play like we did against Essendon then play like this, it's like two different teams.

What I also liked was how quickly we kicked it out after freo would score a behind. And we had different options to use rather than the standard kick it to gawn

What a fantastic performance and credit to Goodwin for moving the magnets around a bit too.

Absolutely stoked with that performance, the run and carry, lowering the eyes, kicking to advantage, leading up to the ball carrier and above all the PRESSURE was there from the first bounce. I would rather see that maniacal attack on the ball and fight each other for it than see two players sitting back.

A game that I will enjoy watching the replay for.

Kozzie, 5 goals and actually hung onto a soeccy as well! Petty was great in attack and Petracca, Gawn, Viney and Oliver were back to their best.

Bowey was superb as well, his first quarter was unbelievable, the pressure, ferocity and ball use 👏

We would have beaten a lot of teams today. And Freo are a good team and kept coming at us

Loved the constant playing on and the sharing of the ball with great teamwork. Our default move was to look for a teammate

We looked and played really well. Kozzie set us alight and away we went

Petty was excellent up forward and the 4 musketeers all contributed to a good degree. Future looks bright with that quartet

And we won without May, Lever & McVee (all walk up starters)

Not sure that JVR or Fritsch get back anytime soon as our forward line worked really well without them today ... still, a spell in the ressies never hurt anyone
