May takes command and marshals a stout defence. Max and the midfield show up with a chip on their shoulders and play fast and aggressive. Forward line shows up as AJ crashes packs, mayhem ensues, creating openings for Melk, JVR and (I pray) fritta.

Dees by 4 goals.

All 50 of us who will be at the G are in for a show.

I was so fuc%ing glad to see Carlton loose. Takes the pressure off us to rebound (or maybe the pressure off us supporters)

For what it's worth I think we will win. We play the G better than the Suns and I'm backing JVR to do what chin did and have an elite game. Let's fuc$ing go Dees

You're kidding, right?

The media actually digging into our shocking gamestyle would be a good thing. We don't need the shield.

It’s game day baby. Pumped!

It’s all about attitude and intent today. Show some fight and make us proud.

We can win this. Go Dees!

We're hopeful but not confident

Surely there will be a strong response after last weeks horror show

You'd rather lose and justify to yourself our gamesyle is no good than win against an up and coming side where our gamestyle holds up?

Dees WILL WIN by 17 points!

  • Our home ground

  • Suns not 'match fit' - no games played this season; the round 1 training/practice game vs WCE doesn't count.

  • Backs-to-the-wall demons will come out fighting like rnd 23, 2024

Stage set for a mighty come back by our beloved demons!

We've lost Lever since I posted the above yesterday but TMac comes in.

Play with grit and intent for 4 quarters and I still think we win !!!

Are you sure you can take kids.

I thought after last week's effort the AFL rated our game style MA15 😜

you forgot one zero at least maybe two

I’ve got the old ‘head says / heart says’ debate pacing through my veins this morning, but you can’t hold this ❤️&💙 heart down! Dees by 17 points.

Hopefully the lads are over the illness that spread through the group last week and are fresh and raring to go. Gawn and Petracca especially with a point to prove. We may not win this one, but we'll definitely have a crack like we did with GWS. Dees by 3 points!

Historically, the Dees thrive when expectations are low and, well… expectations are low.

Melbourne by 25.

You mean Suns not match fit like Tom Green who with 35 possies was the leader in our game against the Giants.

Hope you are right though, this is now a seriously important game for us to get our season going, or possibly watch it fall away early, with the Cats at Cotton On Park next friday.

The irony is we were the team without match fitness against GWS, let Green dominate and surrendered the game.

Every chance GCS are that team today.

We need to curb the play makers like Green.

Tactically, today I think it will be Rowell especially at CB and fwd half stoppages. A job for Viney and or Swallow ...

We also need tactics to stop Mac Andrew copying Comben last week (@Demonstone please note spelling 😁). A good decoy job for Melksham and tell the players to ignore Melksham and keep Andrew away from the play to not intercept.

Last quarter fade outs have been our undoing for nearly a year. I truly think that if there are no passengers we have good tactics and we play the full 4 qtrs we will win ... Is that asking too much ... 🤔

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
