JVR needs to stop running under the ball. He can have a spell if he keeps that up 😩

AJ might be suspended and Howes ain’t it IMO. Otherwise I’m happy for the same squad. I’m even OK if they give Howes another run given the injuries.

AJ and Chandler might get suspended - if they are then it could be Laurie and… I have no idea who in, presumably not Billings or Woey 2.0

Otherwise, no change unless May is returning

Edited by whatwhat say what

I’d be giving Ollie Sestan a run.

Not the worst suggestion. Howes I'm just not sure about.

Against that, isn't Sestan still not quite up to it fitness-wise?

Langford into the 22 if AJ gets suspended, beyond that no change

Spoke to him during the preseason- he said he’s the fittest he’s ever been. I’d give him a game over Howes.

Must have missed that. What did they do?

I’m referring to Howes’ form but AJ made a pretty rough tackle in the last quarter. No concussion but drove head into ground. Can’t remember how they graded them last year but wouldn’t shock me if he got a week.

Not sure about the dangerous tackles. I thought both times the GWS player had an arm free but maybe not.

Assuming no suspensions, Chandler may still be at risk. Howes was poor but who is better without McVee available?

Out: Howes In: Billings

(Could be Adams, Sestan, Hore but doubt they’re ready. So Rivers back. Billings wing, Langdon mid/forward)

Out: Langford In: Laurie

(no point having the kid as sub, he needs full games in the VFL).

Disco and Spargo should both be in contention to get forward spots but it mighttake another week unless AJ is suspended

I think the wind and the kickers are more to blame than JVR.

Season starts in earnest next week.

I was expecting a loss today but bitter that we lost a close one.

North are stacked with talent but rarely put it together.

This is simply a "must win" game

OUT: AJ suspended, Howes too many pressure errors

IN: Turner, Langford.

Henderson to sub

Chandler holds his spot, goes to sub when Kozzie returns.

What's the go with Tickets for this game? Appears like the kids Junior tickets are valid in the membership App... But not the Adult... Assumed we'd get some sort of compensation for heading over there

Also, where is the ground again!?! Been a while...

I don't get the love for Sharp.

Other then a run down tackle he was barely noticed. Jack Henderson showed more then him.

Honestly, if his name was Jack Billings he'd be copping a pasting for that type of performance.

I don't think we'll make any changes to be honest. I'd prefer not to see Sharp and especially Chandler who is just so meh for a small forward. He does nothing for me.

I'd be looking at Kynan Brown for either of them.

AJ 100% will be suspended for that dangerous tackle

I didn’t think he drove the players head into the dirt, and it was not a sling, unlucky not to have gotten a free rather than give one away  but given the MFC luck and he is not a high profile player, and the MFC will not challenge. And they should. With a better solicitor mind,  not the recent fellow.

It's a must win next week. No excuses

Turner is a very good mark & shot for goal.

How many chances do we give fritsch? No scores today & only a few marks.

Fritsch won’t be dropped. Spargo must be half a chance, Kynan Brown also likely in the mix.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
